We’re a 17th century dog friendly coaching inn run by husband and wife team Tom and Claire. There isn’t a straight line in the place and we’ve kept the old character of the pub while injecting some more contemporary charm of our own. Our monthly menu showcases the best the local area has to offer featuring things like hogget reared in the village and wild garlic picked from local woodland. Pies and Burgers are on offer on a Wednesday and on Monday and Tuesday two people dine for £50. Our bar is stocked with locally brewed hand pulled ales, a wide variety of spirits and a good selection on tap with bar snacks alongside at the weekend. Our games room is always a favourite with a pool table and darts and the locals will welcome you with open arms. New for this year we now have a beautiful outdoor seating and dining area where you can catch the afternoon and early evening sun while trying to spot every one of Tom’s 32 fish (they’re not on the menu though!)

Booked our table via Opentable on line with no problems, the pub is in a lovely village and looks like everything you want in a country pub. Our dog was welcome which was great. The staff and locals were all friendly and the food was lovely! We had Fish n chips x2, the aubergine curry, the steak burger and the lasagna pie which we all enjoyed, a very satisfying visit. Thanks!

Enjoyed our meals there. Lovely play area out the back for the kids too. Very friendly staff.

First time dining at the Highland drove and live local for the past 4 years took my brother & sister in law who came to visit all had a lovely meal good service would recommend to anyone

The food was nice, the staff were lovely too. I only had two issues. 1. The smell, I’m not sure if this is avoidable and it did settle once we had been sat for a while but there is a not so nice odour in the pub. And it’s quite overpowering when you walk in. If this place hadn’t been recommended I would have walked out there and then. 2. The flies, I know this can’t be helped but there was at least 5, and one landed right in my food which put me off. I’d been swatting them away for a good ten mins before this happened. My partner enjoyed their food and ate mine too. It was really nice until the fly incident! I also enjoyed that it was a small set menu, I definitely prefer this to having pages and pages of food. Quality over quantity. And once again the staff were lovely, very friendly and quick service.

Amazing find for the food! Seasonal menu, reasonable price and great quality food. Server was very friendly and attentive. No complaints at all! Would definitely return.

Even though I live local I hadn’t been to the The Highland Drove before. However, I will certainly be returning. The staff were welcoming and discretely attentive to just the right level. I had earlier informed them about allergies, etc and this was addressed immediately by the staff with the chef ticking off the dishes that were compliant. The food was very good and tasty, a good range of dishes and caters well for vegetarians/vegans. The atmosphere was pleasant, friendly and comfortable. The beer well kept. All in all a good evening.

Really enjoyed eating here for the first time. Meal was delicious and a fair price. Will certainly eat there again.

What a great meal. Two of us went on 26th May. Great atmosphere, staff were all very pleasant and friendly. I had the hanger steak, cooked to perfection would definitely have that again. All in all a great experience looking forward to next visit
