As a quick note to customers we would like to inform you that all of our reservable outdoor tables are under cover and have heating. Also standard seating is indoor seating.
Proprietor Nicholas Drillsma and partner Sandy Barton have built an enviable reputation over the past 28 years in producing the highest quality, locally sourced food, complimented by an extensive wine list.
The menus reflect our customer profile in delivering quality food and service in a cosy, quintessentially English public house.

Really is a great pub. The lady serving us was very nice and made you feel very welcome. Overall the food was good but the roast potatoes were well overcooked and the butter knives supplied weren't up to the job. The roast pork was very nice but when you're paying £22 for a roast dinner you expect everything to be spot on.

Good food, if a little expensive. Helpful, pleasant staff. The indoor dining area was a little tight for space. Shame there is no car park.

Went for Saturday lunch. On arrival - parking - be aware this pub has no car park - so you have to park in the road. Had booked in advance which was good as people got turned away. Had an amazing starter (courgette bhajis) followed by a very tasty burger. However the burger was served on a silly narrow wooden board and this meant it was difficult to keep the burger on it. I would order on a plate if I came back and had the same again. Service was excellent and the pub itself is beautiful.

Fabulous light lunch outside. Beef in a filo pastry basket excellent starter and smoked salmon salad looked similar. We shared the onion bhaji starter which again was amazing.
