As a quick note to customers we would like to inform you that all of our reservable outdoor tables are under cover and have heating. Also standard seating is indoor seating.
Proprietor Nicholas Drillsma and partner Sandy Barton have built an enviable reputation over the past 28 years in producing the highest quality, locally sourced food, complimented by an extensive wine list.
The menus reflect our customer profile in delivering quality food and service in a cosy, quintessentially English public house.

    Fantastic experience from start to finish! A beautifully located pub tucked into the countryside. As soon as we walked in the staff were super friendly and the atmosphere was lovely. Food was outstanding and this has immediately become our new favourite pub. Looking forward to trying the gin bar on our next visit.

    The venue is fantastic, and the food and service are spot-on. They have a great team that runs the front of the house and a busy bar. The food was delicious and timely. Will be back again.

    We went for dinner for Father’s Day, and had the most amazing experience. The staff were so attentive, they kept checking in on us to see if we was ok for drinks etc, and the food, wow the food was so delicious, I highly recommend the pork roast, and also the salmon and mushroom risotto. And then the puddings, the are so beautiful to look at very Instagramable place for food, drink and the venue. We will be back soon. Thank you so much for your hospitality.

    Zero parking which got things off to a poor start. We were then sat at table “999”. Right next to the bar! Consequently we were fearful that we would be wearing drinks, and constantly being walked past by customers and waiting staff. Food was ok, not sure I agree with the spiced red cabbage (strikes me as a winter vegetable?). Starters were also unusual.

    Hello Norman I apologise for the lack of parking but unfortunately this is out of my hands and we are a very busy country pub. You will recall that from your original booking you then changed it to Fathers Day whereby you were allocated our very last available table. I do accept your point about the tables proximity to the bar but must also add that it is normally a very popular table for this very reason! We serve braised red cabbage throughout the year with our Sunday roasts so please do let us know if you would prefer without. I have made a note in our online diary that you would prefer not to sit at this table in the future

    Excellent experience, last minute changes were accommodated, staff were very busy but continued to be friendly, helpful and professional. Food was excellent. Give them a try, you will not be disappointed.
