A country side feeling mixed with a modern refurbishment. Tasty and homemade, seasonal food and friendly service, makes us pub special. Situated in the heart of Blackheath with a fantastic view outside.
We welcome dogs into the bar area, please select a bar seating if you would like to bring your four legged friends with you when reserving a table and we will provide water and treats for them.

    Really tasty food in cosy lovely pub, will definitely return if we can afford the parking!! Why is Lewisham council so greedy?

You are right, parking is very expensive, I wish, as a business, we would have some sort of discount but I am afraid we don't.     Easy to park , good atmosphere food tasty but due Xmas & possible supply issues not everything on the menu was available

You are right, due to being super busy and supplier issues, some dishes were not available on the menu, we already went back to normal service and I would suggest to try the Pie of the day on your next visit.     Amazing pub on the heath. First time visit and won’t be the last! Staff exceptionally friendly and welcoming and the food was sublime. Thanks for making my Christmas Eve magical.

    We had a lovely experience at the Hare and Billet. We had a lovely round table to accommodate our family, baby and dog. The roast was a bit cold, but they gave us a free dessert at the end to make up for it which was very nice. We would recommend to friends and family!

    The food was lovely service amazing, lovely pub. The only thing I would change would be to make the cherry Crumble more of an actual crumble but all the flavours were there, it was superb! Definitely will visit again.

    We usually go to our local pub in Kidbrooke for our Christmas meal, but having been to The Hare and Billet on several occasions for an excellent Sunday roast, we thought we would give it a go this year and we were not disappointed. We pre-ordered our food from their set menu along with a couple of glasses of champagne. We felt welcome upon arrival and the table was ready. The champagne came out very promptly followed by starters which were delicious. The mains and desserts were also served promptly and tasted great. The chips we had ordered were a bit odd but didn’t detract from the overall experience. I really appreciate the service, which is always confident and direct, the guys know how to do their jobs properly and are up for a chat. Would recommend and will return.
