I have never had a bad experience at The Grill. This is why I trusted this place to deliver an amazing experience for my Mother’s 77th birthday. When we arrived, the hostess greeted my Mother with a birthday card. The manager stopped by our table on several occasions to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. Lastly and most importantly all our dishes were cooked to perfection!

Some of the best steak on the wharf, at an excellent price when the filet is included in the Sunset Special 3-course meal. Beautiful view from the deck, and everything was excellent.

Noise level was low because we sat outside. However the overall experience was amazing as usual. The Grill is always consistent.

First time at this restaurant and for most of us, the first or one of only a few times visiting the Wharf. It started off great. Our party of 5 were seated promptly in a quiet, cute little cozy corner. After placing our order, the appetizers (crab fondue, royal deviled eggs) arrived fairly quickly, were quite tasty and quickly gobbled up. I loved the vibe and the aesthetics. Then we waited and waited and waited for our entrees. When the food finally arrived, everyone seemed happy with their main courses. Our sons had the Tomahawk, my daughter the Grill burger, my husband the half chicken and I had the seafood linguini. Although the main dishes were a hit, everyone agreed all of the sides (pimento mac, spiced cream spinach and grilled sweet potatoes) were a little blah/bland. After the food took so long to arrived, it seemed the waiter gave up on the idea of getting any more than the 20% he was guaranteed due to our party size and the service was downhill from there. He came near our corner for other patrons, but never glanced in our direction and we had to diligently be on the lookout so we could flag him done to get service. This meant we again waited and waited and waited for the dessert menu and then again for the check. All of the waiting took the life out of my son’s 21st birthday celebration dinner and at times, it was only the freezing temperature in the restaurant that kept me awake. Almost 2 hours after arriving, when the bill arrived, I was surprised (given the price point), but not shocked to see there were no free refills on soft drinks. Though it started out promising, given the many choices in the DMV, to include those in that area alone, I don’t think I would return (or recommend others visit) The Grill given the lackluster service at a high price point (our bill was +$400) and the parking/traffic challenges in that area.

My wife and I had an excellent dinner to celebrate our anniversary. Appetizers and entrees were all great. They even threw in a free dessert which was very much appreciated!

Our family had an incredible pre-theater experience at The Grill and have been talking about how fantastic the food and service even after dining on Friday evening. Mackenzie did an amazing job, she took such good care of us and took our order with the greatest of ease, with no missteps. The staff were just wonderful, from the bar to the runners, everyone did an exceptional job. We cannot wait to return and hope that they do not take the deviled eggs with the duck liver mousse off the menu.
