Welcome to The Greyhound, a 17th century coaching inn, in the heart of Beaconsfield Old Town.
Owned and managed by husband and wife team, Daniel Crump and Margriet Vandezande-Crump, the pub and restaurant was named as the ‘One to Watch in the UK’s prestigious Top 50 Gastropubs Awards, named a TripAdvisor 2021 Travellers’ Choice Award Winner, and voted the best restaurant in Bucks & Oxon by guests in the annual Muddy Stilettos awards.
The Greyhound is made up of 3 key areas for guests to enjoy: an intimate drinking lounge and outside drinking terrace, the main restaurant for dining (upstairs and downstairs), and an outdoor covered and heated dining terrace.
The different menus showcase a commitment to using the best seasonal British produce available.
The Greyhound also stocks a diverse wine list, developed by Margriet, who is a certified sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers, as well as a wide range of international beers.

We chose to have two starters and combined with some nibbles and two amuse bouche we had plenty to eat. Everything was delicious with some unusual flavours. The brandade was underseasoned but the crispy fish skin was delicious as were the lamb chips which were hearty. A blue cheese puri and artichoke and onion amuse bouche were perfect pockets of flavour served with brioche and herb butter. We had the Ajo Blanco which was delicate and the butter nut tart which served on a seeded tart case was excellent. We then had the rabbit loin and gurnard. Both were good and served with generous crispy chips, more than we could manage to eat. Served with a French Sauvignon blanc. A lot of care has been taken in choosing the tableware reflecting the approach of the serving staff who were friendly and attentive. We’d go back

This was my second visit to the restaurant. The first time was a lunch, this time dinner. The menus were both different, but still outstanding. The service on both occasions was brilliant, very friendly,welcoming, informative & efficient. I will definitely return.

Went for a birthday lunch. Food, service and ambience were excellent as always. Cannot recommend enough.

Saturday lunch at the Greyhound, in picture-perfect Windsor End, the market street of Beaconsfield. The food and drink a triumph, with standout treatment of summer truffle (a starter taken as a main), roasted halibut, and the house's signature "nozotto", - rice-free, made with kohlrabi. Chocolate mouse, raspberry and sarsaparilla(!) soufflé and toasted meringue all delighted. House champagne and wines by the glass were well-curated and went down a treat. Our servers were expert and charming. My single reservation would be the internal décor, which was a tad retro for my taste, but not everyone will agree! One in our party left behind a jacket, about which they informed us within minutes. All in all strongly recommended.

I have eaten at the Greyhound numerous times and have never been disappointed - has always been a pleasurable experience and I look forward to me next visit.

Such a lovely restaurant. The staff are so attentive, the food is amazing and there were a few little surprise compliments of the chef too. We were celebrating a birthday meal and the staff obviously all aware of this made such an effort. The 3 course set lunch was delicious and good value for money.

Outstanding in every way:Food taste, presentation, service - exceptional. This is my favourite restaurant. The staff and restaurant ‘feel’ is non pretentious, yet of the highest standards- Amuse bouche in between meals with the 2 course lunch menu at £35 is fantastic value. They even charge a mere £2 for a bottle of sparking water as it’s carbonated on site. I overlooked their pretty garden (where they grow many of the ingredients) and was free to peruse afterwards. The staff always make the experience special. Last time, they even presented my mum with a box of reading glasses to choose from as she forgot her own. This time I left with a gift Greyhound car freshener and last time, it was a keychain. This place never fails to amaze me. WOW.
