The menu is very interesting and I liked the sound of all the dishes. The restaurant is not for someone who likes plain food. My partner is not into to offal, game and the like and struggled to find something he liked. I really think to have one or two more straightforward dishes the menu would then appeal to everyone. I had the partridge, which was good , but was served whole and was therefore difficult to eat. It was served on bread sauce and therefore moved around the plate as I was trying , unsuccessfully to carve it. It was only after I mentioned this to the waitress that she told me the chef would carve it in the kitchen. If I had been told this sooner,it would have made life a lot easier for me. I think it is wonderful to find a restaurant in the area that offers this type of food and I look forward to visiting again The service is adequate but could be more proactive , for instance crumbing down the table before serving the dessert. The wines by the glass we felt could be more adventurous, even if more expensive. What we tried, red and white ,were not great.

Consistently excellent and exciting food in a traditional pub. This is the best restaurant I've been to in Suffolk and the owners and staff are welcoming and always striving to make your visit special.

All the food was delicious from the cod gougeres snacks, the crab soup and the sharing fallow buck loin. We really enjoyed the toasted bread that came with the soup and the red wine just was perfection. We will definitely go back again as soon as we can

After battling our way through Suffolk's finest single track roads we eventually found The Greyhound Inn. In actual fact it is signposted off the A12 so my satnav has a lot to answer for. We (my wife, her sister and myself) were greeted by a friendly lady and shown to our table as soon as we arrived but we could have started with a drink in the lovely cosy bar which was in keeping with the "olde world" ambience of the rest of the pub. This was a Wednesday night so the pub was pretty quiet which was fine for us. Given their recent exposure in the Times and Good Food Guide we expected them to be slightly aloof due to their excellent reviews. In fact it was quite the opposite. The staff were friendly, personable and unassuming but reassuringly competent. The menu apparently changes fairly regularly so there's little point in describing our particular dishes in detail. Suffice it to say that the Baked Figs (x2) and Chicken Livers were superbly prepared starters and nicely presented, The generous Hogget main course was exemplary with the Lamb pink but very tender. My wife's sister chose the Sauteed Girolles which were excellent and again plentiful. To drink, we went for the Rioja which was delicious and a perfect accompaniment to the food. We were all unfortunately too full to try the deserts but they did look tempting. With regard to value-for-money, the total cost including a discretionary service charge of 12.5% came to less than the cost of a previous night's two course meal in a high-end Aldeburgh restaurant of repute with -in my opinion- arguably better food and a much more welcoming reception.

This was our first visit to The Greyhound Inn and we were not disappointed. The reception was really friendly, the staff being both accommodating and welcoming. The food was delicious and very well presented. The atmosphere was great, although it has the advantage of being the oldest Inn in Suffolk with many of its original features intact.

We had a lovely meal at The Greyhound Inn last night, the food was wonderful and the team were charming. Initially the service was not quite what I expected but on reflection, this was more about my expectations than reality. The Greyhound presents itself as a country inn with excellent food, not as a restaurant. On that basis, the place is outstanding.

Wonderful place to spend a Saturday afternoon. They were down a member of staff so things took a bit longer than they would normally have done but this did not take away the enjoyment of the setting, food, friendly landlord and staff. Still a proper pub with people dropping in for drinks in the garden and at the bar and the food was absolutely outstanding. Set in a beautiful quiet village. Nothing not to like.
