Taking hospitality back to its roots with a warm welcome from our genuinely friendly team breathing new life back into the heart of the community.
The menu will offer daily, hyper-seasonal specials, and plenty of British game, meat and fish. Executive chef and owner, Jamie Dobbin is passionate about local sourcing and traditional dishes, such as Half dozen Porthilly rock oysters with shallot dressing, Brixham King scallops with burnt butter cauliflower and caviar or Portland hogget Shepherd’s pie with grilled cutlet.
Serious meat lovers can expect 45 day aged native and rare breed steak on offer as well as a hero dish of Beef Wellington for two. Fish is of course wild, sustainable, and British, sourced from day boats on the South coast with the daily catch delivered straight to the door in a matter of hours. There is a handsome bar menu too, and as always, Sunday roasts are a big fixture on the menu every week.

    We love the Greyhound! The service is always very good and the pub is a delightful place to eat. The food is good, part excellent but not always perfect. For example, roast potatoes could have been crispier; even though they looked very crisp they somehow mostly weren't. However, overall, very satisfied. We'd eat there more often if it wasn't for the fact that it is also quite pricey!

    It was our first time at The Greyhound yesterday. The roasts were amazing, the drinks lovely and the best bit was the service, all staff so friendly and they couldn’t do enough for you. We will definitely be coming back.

    When we arrived the car park was quite empty. We asked Alexa and she said that since California Crossroads entered phase two the pub had been very quiet. We ordered quickly and had a superb lunch. By the time we left the car park was full which tells you a lot about the drawing factor of this really special pub.

    Good food but I think £30 for a two course lunch ( including service) is very expensive. I will not be returning at that price.
