The Green Flash is an iconic waterfront dining establishment in Captiva, Florida. Come by boat or car, sit indoors or at one of our outdoor dockside tables for lunch or dinner service. The Green Flash serves traditional American fare with a distinct European influence. The kitchen uses only fresh ingredients, including market-fresh fish in all its from scratch dishes. The full bar provides plenty of drink options and the dining rooms and patios provide beautiful views of the water while you eat. Enjoy your meal as you watch the many pleasure and fishing boats depart and return from their excursions!

The Green Flash's menu begins with a range of starters like oysters on the half shell, smoked salmon, hot flash shrimp and mussels. There are plenty of salads and soups on The Green Flash menu as well, like the grilled chicken Caesar. Larger dishes include chicken porcini and pan seared diver scallops.

Green Flash offers a unique sampling of food choices . The grouper sandwich is absolutely the best in Florida ; the spinach salad with bronzed prawns with an apricot vinaigrette was really incredible. Coconut shrimp was excessively amazing with a dipping sauce that had the right amount of sweet and tanginess . The drinks were perfect . Our server was very very professional and friendly. He absolutely deserved the tip he received. The ambiance is traditional and lovely . A perfect place to spend time on Captiva for lunch. Bravo .

The cuisine was excellent. Nothing was overpriced. However, we had to have our table moved outside because the noise inside made it impossible to have a conversation. I do not see a way around this unless they reconfigure their interior dining space.

My only complaint is the lack of handicapable resources especially for outdoor dining. We had a difficult time navigating my mother in law safely around especially to the restrooms. We opted not to use the ladies room when leaving and actually preferred the ease of access at the nearest convenience store. Food was great. Service was a little rushed (it was prime lunchtime on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, so I understand that factor) but great.

This is an excellent place to dine. The menu offers many interesting options, especially appreciated by my husband and I who enjoy ordering multiple appetizers sometimes, instead of a full entree. Our drinks were delicious and the carrot cake topped off our last evening of vacation in Florida. And a special thank you to the lovely Kia for making us feel special! They need more parking because everyone wants to eat here!

Drinks from bar were very poor. Chop was very fatty. Calamari was very good. Noise was terrible.

GF is a favorite dinner spot every time we are on Sanibel/Captiva. Our recent visit was as delightful as all the prior ones. Great service, delicious food offerings (the GF Trio is outstanding), and a signature view of the sound make it irresistible for us. Upscale, yet comfortably casual. Don’t visit the islands without trying Green Flash!
