The Gravel Pit Brasserie & Bar is situated in The Waterfront Hotel with mouthwatering views over the east lake to accompany our fantastic menu.

This site was once a large marsh, fed by the River Great Ouse, but in the 1950s gravel extraction created a series of small lakes and pools which survives today. The gravel was mainly used in road and industrial construction, but today the old gravel pits are home to an abundance of wildlife, flora and fauna; a magical place for all of us to enjoy.

Our restaurant is open 7 days a week, from 7am - 11pm, with last food orders at 9pm.

Arrived early and was seated straight away. Lovely view of the lakeside, staff were friendly and accommodating. Food was excellent and presented hot and pleasing to the eye. The chilli prawn and crab linguine was delicious as was the pork and chorizo patty, definitely recommend.

Lovely location, bit over priced for what you get - eg burger and chips but no side salad with it so looked a bit basic ! Tried to charge us £4 for bottle of water when we asked for tap water ! 12.5 service charge which we didn’t pay as the waitress spent time arguing about the fact we were serviced and drank a bottle of fizzy water which she claimed we couldn’t have done as don’t serve it ! We were 4 intelligent women and know what fizzy looks and tastes like - she then dropped a cup and saucer and generally just spoke to us like we were a stupid inconvenience! - more training in customer service needed !

We waited 45 mins for essentially a burger, salad and chips. Very expensive for what it is.

Great venue for golfers or general visitors. A picturesque outlook, fab service, great surroundings and conveniences very clean. Deffinately worth a visit.

Lovely setting and really delicious and well presented food. Staff very friendly but service runs slowly, there were less than 10 customers including ourselves in the restaurant, but it took a long time to have our order taken and then both drinks and food to arrive.

Following a visit to the Spa, we had dinner in the restaurant. We were given a lovely table near the window so we could look out at the lake. The menu selection was very good and catered well for my daughter who is gluten free. Service was exceptional and we will definitely be back.

Excellent setting, staff were all attentive, food quality was good. Choice of menu disappointing, especially for Sunday lunchtime but I guess we knew that before we arrived.

Chicken was over cooked. Very poor choice for gluten free food. This place has the potential to be very good but missed the boat with the quality of the meals.

The restaurant setting was nice and the service was very good but the food was disappointing and expensive. The food wasn't hot and I don't even think the chicken was freshly cooked and rather just warmed up. We paid £131 for 2 people for starters and main and 1 bottle of wine and an automatic 12.5% service charge was added to the bill. I'd say it was like a pub meal not a brasserie and therefore it should have cost around half that in my opinion
