Come and enjoy a meal at The Grange, Saunderton in the heart of the Chiltern Hills

We are excited to welcome you for a simple à la carte menu bursting with fresh, seasonal ingredients. So, take a deep breath and unwind at The Grange Restaurant.

Book your table inside or outside on our terrace or courtyard with freshly-prepared breakfast, brunch, lunch or afternoon tea available every day from 9am to 4pm.

We want all our customers to arrive feeling welcome and safe, and leave feeling happy, knowing that every visit supports our life-changing charity work at Hearing Dogs for Deaf People - helping deaf people leave loneliness behind.

The Grange is AA Covid-Confident Accredited, still taking a sensible approach to keep all our customers, volunteers and staff safe. Please note, we take payment only for food and drink during your order, before you are served. We look forward to welcoming you - and, of course, dogs are welcome too!

Priority & Accessible parking is available at the top of the drive near the Little Grange Field for those with mobility issues, with access to the tarmac path.     Lovely place to have lunch. Gardens are beautifully kept. It was raining the day I came but looked very pretty. Service was great with friendly staff. I would recommend.

    Enjoyed Sunday lunch. My friend sadly couldnt make it, however, the staff attended to me by finding me a table by the window. Customer service was excellent. Generous helping of the Herb Chicken, plenty of vegetables and a side order of Cauliflower Cheese. Restaurant wasn't overly busy and there was a lovely atmosphere amongst diners and their dogs. Will definitely revisit. Made for a very pleasant afternoon.

    Really great location, very nice gardens and lovely dogs! The staff are volunteers are very helpful. The service is good and the food freshly cooked. Highly recommended. A very worthwhile charity.

    The service was good, the macaroni cheese was excellent but the scone and cream I had later in the afternoon was so crumbly I had to eat with a teaspoon was unable to spread the cream properly as it just crumbled into small pieces!

    Called in for breakfast. My partner had a full cooked breakfast and I had scrambled egg on toast. Both were excellent. Coffee is really good too. Everything is very well kept and the outside seating area is really nice, surrounded by flower beds and the scent of lavender. We always book a table here when visiting the area and have never been disappointed. Good food, good surroundings, nice staff and you are supporting a good cause. Very dog friendly, as you would expect from the hearing dogs charity, but don't be put off if you don't have a dog, it is still welcoming and very clean.

    A lovely environment and excellent service. I was surprised I could not leave a gratuity for the staff but only a donation to Hearing Dogs. That's fine - but different. Sometimes it is good to reward the serving staff for their efforts.

    Usually excellent afternoon tea in lovely grounds. However the sausage roll and muffin looked liked they came from a packet. The scone was undercooked- wet inside and the clotted cream was a couple of days out of date. As this was a charity we only asked to change the scone to one cooked through

    Dear Ruth Firstly, please accept my sincere apologies. We always want our customers to leave having had a positive experience and I'm so sorry that yours fell short. Our meals are prepared and freshly cooked, including your sausage roll, but I'm afraid your muffin was bought in on this occasion. I'm sorry about your scone, but glad you were happy to exchange it. I'd like to reassure you that the Rodda's clotted cream wasn't out of date. You may have read the batch number 24 J 130, which can be confused with a date. Each portion is frozen under -18C, as per the supplier's instruction and safely defrosted and stored in the fridge on the day of serving. It's used well within the recommended 10 days from defrosting. Rest assured I will pass your comments to our chef. With best wishes, Rachel
