The Grand Tier Restaurant is located inside The Metropolitan Opera House and offers both a la carte and prix fixe menus. The restaurant welcomes the general public, not just ticketed guests of the Metropolitan Opera House. Reservations required. The restaurant’s location makes it the perfect pre-theater dining experience for all guests of Lincoln Center. The exquisite modern American cuisine and classic dining room, highlighted by Chagall murals and brilliant Swarovski crystal chandeliers, make it a memorable destination regardless of the occasion. Our doors open two hours before curtains go up.
Ticketed guests of the Metropolitan Opera may also dine in the restaurant at intermission, but must pre-order and reserve via phone: 212.799.3400, or email: thegrandtier@patinagroup.com . Reservations for ticketed guests dining at intermission ONLY, are not taken via Open Table.
Please note that proof of vaccination is no longer required.

Always wonderful dining at The Grand Tier before a performance. James is a gracious and lovely maitre d’ and the staff is excellent, knowledgeable and efficient; we never feel rushed to make the curtain on time.

The Grand Tier Restaurant is part of the magic of attending ballet at the MET. The space is gorgeous, the views wonderful, service impecable and the food is delightful -- if incredibly pricey!! Definitely a splurge destination but it makes the gorgeous ABT ballet experience even better.

I'm such a fan! My guest had only eaten there once before a long time ago, so she was thrilled to have another opportunity to enjoy this unique and beautiful experience! Many thanks to our server, Todd, who is always so friendly and accommodating. I'll be back next week for the last of the ABT season! CHEERS!

James is magnificent ! I attended the matinee performance and made dinner reservations for 5:30, with my 10 year old granddaughter. I asked James to seat us in a "memorable spot" and it was a wonderful banquette overlooking the Plaza. Vivianna was thrilled with the seating arrangement and view - thanks James you are the BEST, and thanks to the attentive staff and cook for the delicious seafood.

The ambience and service were top notch! The food was very good; our steaks were overcooked, well done instead of medium, but because of the delicious and large pat of garlic butter on top it we juicy and still wonderful. They also remembered we were celebrating my daughter’s birthday when we walked in and told her Happy Birthday! You will love dining in this restaurant pre theater. What an experience!

The Grand Tier Restaurant is expensive, but the food is delicious, you don't feel rushed, you can return during intermission and have your dessert as opposed to feeling like you need to hurry through your meal to make certain you're in seats before the performance begins. Before last year when a new chef took over, the food left much to be desired. Now it leaves you desiring more food! AND, two of my guests arrived having worked all day without the chance to eat and were thrilled to have these wonderful entrees waiting for them at intermission. Did dining here enhance our enjoyment of the evening. It most certainly did. This was not my first time here nor will it be may last!!!
