Has my birthday lunch there with my 85 yr old mother and the folks couldn’t have been nicer to us Appetizers and meal were prepared to perfection Grand Marlin never disappoints!

There are very few restaurants that you can always count on to be consistent with service and quality of food!!! The Grand Marlin never fails to amaze us! From our first experience many years ago until now it’s always our first choice!!

I had the filet, my bride had the grouper pica-ta, and we split the brownie/ice cream for dessert...awesome...thanks for making my brides birthday dinner special...

We made this reservation to celebrate the birthday of a neighbor. We asked in the special request field for a table on the patio next to the windows so we could see the water and enjoy the view and breeze. When we checked in, the hostess verified that we wanted to be on the patio and I said, yes, next to the window. It was not crowded and I saw a couple of open tables next to the window. We were shown to a table in the middle of the room, so I asked if we could sit at the one next to the window. She looked confused (there were 4 empty glasses on the table). She went back to the desk and asked the other hostess. She came back and said we would have to wait over in the corner until it was cleaned. We agreed. Fifteen minutes later, with no action or movement to clean the table, my husband asked if there was a problem. The hostess said they were still waiting in the busboy. We continued to wait. Another 5 minutes go by and the birthday girl asked if she could see the menu while we waited. The hostess said no, they only gave menus when people were seated.(??) We continued to wait. Finally, one of the hostesses went to the back and came out with a tray. She went to the table, picked up two glasses, by hand, not using the tray, and took them to the back. She returned a few minutes later, without the tray, but with a cloth and spray bottle, which she put on the table. She picked up the other 2 glasses and went to the back again. While she was gone, a bus boy appeared and started working on another table. When she returned again, she spoke to him. He moved toward the table we were waiting on, but apparently he just picked up the cleaning things, because when we were finally shown to the table a few minutes later, it had not been wiped down. The food was great, as usual, but the welcome was lacking.

The food was great, but it was so hot inside that I couldn’t bring myself to eat well, it was 80°+ at 8:30pm. There are no fans above circulating the air. The only thing that made it tolerable was our server Rebekah, whom I felt sorry for because she was having to work in those conditions.

We have going to The Grand Marlin for over ten years when we are in town. In the past, the portions were large, the price was right and the ambiance was lovely. This year, the prices have tripled, the portion were small, but the restaurant is still the nicest in town.

Had a fantastic time started with fried crab claw at the bar delicious, what seated we just had gumbo and barbecue shrimp and crabcake. It was excellent can’t beat the atmosphere the grand Marlin.
