Soak up our friendly service and homely charm when nestled in the seaside town of Wells-next-the-Sea. Here at The Golden Fleece, we are the perfect dog friendly retreat to sit back, relax and indulge in our delicious food with the perfect drink in hand.

Our passion for food takes our menu to another level. Our traditional pub classics are expertly crafted whilst our world inspired dishes will have you coming back time and time again! Using the most seasonal ingredients and decadent flavours, there’s a dish for every desire.

Sit amongst the history in our Grade II listed building where you can enjoy a tipple where contemporary meets cosy and our head turning reclaimed staircase, taken from a 17th Century galleon shipwreck, it continues to amaze visitors and locals alike.

Really enjoyed our meal. Never been here before but will definitely return. Great friendly staff and service. My puppy Ness was very popular too. She loved the attention too. Thank you Amber was our waitress for the evening.

Booked for 4 adults with 4 dogs so we were allocated a suitable table - good service - dogs welcome with treats and water bowl

The mains of scampi and chips was very nice. However, the cherry sundae was a disappointment because we were notctold they had run out of waffle pieces until it was put in front of us. So it turned out to be just ice cream (which should have been coconut, but not sure if it was) a little sauce and about 5 cherries which were still frozen. No discount was applied to the bill. A shame because we might have gone back for a 2nd evening meal if we had enjoyed both courses.

Lovely food and great atmosphere, I'm so glad we booked a table as it got busy! Defo coming back when we go to wells! 🫶🏻

Great service in a busy but convivial atmosphere. The menu is simple but the food is good so as long you are not looking for anything exotic, you'll eat well here.

A warm friendly pub, with a matching welcome and beautiful view over the harbour and estuary. Whilst the food was tasty and delivered quickly, the table (we requested an accessible table through the booking website for a wheelchair user) was too low to fit a wheelchair - good job we took a portable lap tray to eat from. There was a number of customers (myself included) who expressed disappointment over a CAMRA pub having no beers / ales on tap that evening, with only lager and cider available.

We went for Dinner the other day. The Shepherds Pie was amazing & all the Staff very friendly. Great buzzy atmosphere

Visited 3 times in a week Good food Friendly staff considering they were obviously run off their feet and needed more staff to help Overall very good ,don’t agree with some of the earlier reviews
