Our passion for food takes our menu to another level. Our traditional pub classics are expertly crafted whilst our world inspired dishes will have you coming back time and time again! Using the most seasonal ingredients and decadent flavours, there’s a dish for every desire.

Sit amongst the history in our Grade II listed building where you can enjoy a tipple where contemporary meets cosy and our head turning reclaimed staircase, taken from a 17th Century galleon shipwreck, it continues to amaze visitors and locals alike.

The service was excellent by all the staff we had contact with. The table service was very good. The food arrived quickly and was hot and tasty. We would return again but on a less busy day (Bank holiday Monday... hectic). Thanks to all the staff at the Fleece.

Terrible experience. Table not cleared and had to clear it myself. Asked three times for service and for the dirty table to be cleaned which didn’t happen. No options for gluten free. Very busy with queues right next to where we were sitting. Left most of my meal. My family and I will never visit again.

The service was terrible, we waited 45 minutes for a drink then there was confusion over which wines they did or didn’t have in stock with three different members of staff saying different things. When our food arrived they got three out of five orders wrong. Clearly understaffed, lots of people Unhappy with the service which was a huge shame as the food was actually really good if you’re prepared to wait. We returned to give the fleece another chance after a previous bad experience but this being our second will not be visiting again.

Excellent meal, served by very friendly efficient staff, we sat near the bar and there was a queue for the bar near the table the whole time we were there, which was to be expected on a warm summers day, the food was really good, would definitely eat there again.

Took 30 minutes to complete drinks order - for 3 drinks. Came back twice as didn’t have ingredients for drinks. Had to reorder 3 times! Had nearly finished meal before drinks finally arrived. Food very average.

Despite receiving confirmation of my booking, when we arrived at the Golden Fleece we were advised that they had no record of our booking because their iPad had frozen. I advised them that was not my problem and asked to see the Manager. The Managers belligerent response really compounded the situation by stating that it’s not their fault that the iPad has frozen and they didn’t have a table for us. The restaurant was packed, so we were offered a table in the beer yard (it’s not a garden). It was windy, the tables were sticky, and it stank of fish and cigarette smoke. We decided to eat elsewhere. I will be making a formal complaint when I get back from my holiday. Terrible service.

Nice little pub, fabulous views of Wells estuary, food and drinks order taken quickly, starters arrived very quickly (cold starters) both very tasty, presentation really nice. Mains, both parties had traditional Sunday roast- again presentation really nice, beef could have been slightly more rear but that’s a personal choice. Good quantity of vegetables and very nice gravy. Nice young girl looked after us in the dining area but my overall opinion of service - could be improved, a little more attention needs to be paid to diners again just my opinion but I have many year’s hospitality experience so generally am a little critical about customer service and attentiveness. Took a while to pay as no one present after we finished dining. Overall would definitely return and recommend to others. Dog friendly (not for everyone) Reasonable clean toilet facilities (seen worse experienced better) Friendly atmosphere which is good as you do sit quite close to others.

Seemed a shambles. Staff wandering around aimlessly. Took 25 minutes to order drinks, because we prompted them. Food very basic, nothing special and overpriced. I follow The Golden Fleece on Facebook and was hoping for a much better dining experience. Sadly not the case. The place needs a good shake up

Unfortunately we gave them another chance and were very disappointed. The service is incredibly slack, no waiting staff seemingly appointed to each table. Once seated at our very sticky table (it was wiped but rather half heartedly) we waited and waited for out order to be taken, it wasn't. I had to find a member of staff. Said member of staff fairly quickly came over to take our order. Our drinks then took another 10 minutes to arrive- it wasn't terribly busy. We placed our order and then 10 minutes later the same waiter returned to tell us that the Hallumi wrap wasn't available in the evening, only at lunchtime- why is it on the menu then? There is one menu with no time restrictions mentioned for these items. Anyway, we reordered. When the food arrived, the cutlery did not, I went and asked a member of staff for some. They brought it over and placed it fairly randomly on the table, with no consideration given to holding it correctly, holding them by their tip instead of their handles. When spending almost £15 for a veggie burger, it would be nice to have something more than a burnt burger bun served with chips less appetising than those I purchase from the supermarket- they were dry and disappointing, especially given the fabulous chips previously served here under the previous management, some salad on the side so the plate isn't half empty would be good- or perhaps a smaller plate would improve the presentation vastly. After a very disappointing birthday meal, we wont be returning, which is a shame. However, under the new management we have visited 4 times and found it to be getting progressively worse not better.
