What a great affordable meal. Went this Saturday and had pizza and chicken franchise both were outstanding. We go all the time to this The goat or Red Horse. Food is always consistent.

Quality of food is consistently good, cost is a little steep, but I'm willing to pay for quality. Service was very slow as they seemed to be short staffed and restaurant (thankfully) was not crowded. Easily too 30-40 minutes for appetizer to arrive and it was delicious. Our entrees appeared while we still were eating the appetizer. A couple of tables where the customers had finished their meal and left the restaurant were still not cleaned after 15-30 minutes, again speaking to the under staffed issue.

Interior is cheaply done and looks out onto Rt 36. Service was far from high end restaurant quality. Food was decent. David Burke was there in the dining room. Only 3 tables had patrons, as it was early on a Sunday. He greeted the diners at the other 2 tables and took pics with one of them. He completely ignored our table. It was weird.

The food value was high. I had salmon which may have been one of the best fish dishes I ever had. The skn was crispy and the tomato and pesto mix was complex and favorable. My wife had chicken franchise and it was too rich for my wife. She had a hard time finding health options other than fish which she doesn't eat. I loved the place and prices were very reasonable.

I believe this was our 5th time dining at The Goat and probably the last. Evening started out okay. We asked for a table in the bar. The manager was very accomodating. He communicated we could sit anywhere and proceeded to add an additional 2 top to give us additional room. Overall service was fair as the bartender was our waitress as well. We ordered from both the Happy Hour and regular menus. Started with the caesar salad. My husband and I are big salad eaters so I asked if it was large enough to share. She communicated "definitely". It definitely was not. We would have happily ordered 2 if we had known. Next, the eggplant chips which are always good. Meal went downhill with the entrees. I ordered the salmon which is a menu staple and they were out. Next was the seasonal catch of the day (black cod?), also out as well as the branzino. Finally ended up with 2 orders of shrimp and scallops over sundried tomato, corn and asparagus risotto. Although the shrimp and scallops were delicious, the risotto was undercooked, watery, and loaded with peas which I do not eat. We have dined a David Burke restaurants multiple times with mixed results. Unfortunately, with rare exceptions, The Goat leans towards the negative rather than positive.

Our first anniversary, it was a wonderful meal. The service was very good. We will be back.

Great food as always, with a fun vibe. Fantastic service, Alexis was wonderfully attentive and informative. Anya the bartender is friendly and mixes a tremendous martini. One of our go to places for quality and value!
