For several years we have always tried to eat at the Globe when visiting Dumfries. The food is excellent and until last week the service has also been very good. However last week we waited for about 40 minutes for the bill to arrive and even then we had to ask twice. We were charged £9 for two bottles of "table water". On leaving the restaurant we were asked if everything had been OK and raised our concerns about the above. The response was less than satisfactory and regrettably this will be our last visit to the Globe. I expect a fine dining experience to include a high standard of customer service as well as fine food. Unfortunately not our experience on this occasion.

Lovely, lovely lovely. Had the tasting menu which was very tasty and well presented. Staff incredibly attentive. Ambience very good.

This was such a beautiful venue and incredible meal. The food was amazing and the service was wonderful. Couldn’t have asked for better!

Great to see such an historic venue breathing life back into Dumfries. The setting is atmospheric, great welcome, excellent food and good value. Well done Annandale distillery. We have already booked our return visit.

This was my fourth lunch at The Globe Inn,- this time as a treat for my son’s birthday. We both had the Lunch Marche. He had his with paired wine, while I had two delicious mocktails. The service was efficient, friendly with a nice touch of making us feel special. The complimentary dishes and the following courses were an experience of perfectly mixed flavours resulting in outbursts of Wow! Delicious! Amazing from us both. My son liked the wine pairing which he said touch all the right buttons. Thank you Globe Inn for a lovely experience.

We dine at the globe for every occasion. Whether its a staff night out, date night or a family meal in the private room (our baby can be noisy) Fantastic every time. We love it. Could not recommend enough if you like well presented food that tastes delicious.

Fabulous place for a very memorable meal which lived up to fine dining expectations. Lovely friendly staff who are passionate about the food they serve and a wonderful historical location with the Robbie Burns experience. It is hidden away in a side alley but could be easily missed, we only knew about it from watching the Hairy Bikers show when they visited earlier this year.
