The George is Providence's newest piano bar and upscale casual dining restaurant featuring American fare, elevated comfort food, delightfully crafted cocktails, and live piano every Tuesday - Sunday.

Enjoy Brunch with Live Piano every Sunday from 10am to 1:30pm and dinner from 2pm to 5pm.

Our Speakeasy Lounge opens every Friday and Saturday evening at 7pm. Seating is available on a first come, first seated basis. Live music starts at 9:30pm.

Me my wife and my mom had dinner at THE GEORGE for the 1st time this weekend. We were all blown away by the quality of the food and the attentiveness of the staff. We all had the unique specials offered that day and the meals were perfectly prepared. We all loved our appetizers, entrees and desserts (all at very generous portions). We were also impressed on how both the manager and the owner came to the table at different times during the evening to make sure we were enjoying our experience. We made sure that we made a reservation for a future date before leaving. We DEFINITELY will return.

Overall the brunch experience was OK, but crab cake eggs benedict were overcooked (hard yolks) and the pancakes were just lukewarm and not very fluffy. Loved the decor and the service was great.

We went to The George for our 16th Anniversary which happened to fall on the Saturday before Halloween. The George was very busy and VERY NOISY. In the bar area you could hear noise from outside where students were partying and from a line of an expected 2,000 young adults going to the Strand for some kind of event. I noted in our reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary. Nothing was offered to note this and when we have dined previously in Newport RI the restaurant has always offered us a celebratory desert or drink. NOTHING. The picture(s) of the restaurant on Open Table made it appear larger than it is. It was on the verge of claustrophobic.

The George is a great restaurant in providence. As you enter, you are welcomed in. The staff is very professional and the food is always great. Highly recommended.

Dan was our waiter and he was fantastic! When asked for suggestions he provided super advice based upon his knowledge of the food and his personal experiences. He was also very attentive without hovering. I no sooner finished my drink and he appeared to see if I needed anything else. Non intrusive immediate service! The food was amazing and the amount of specials at The George is unmatched! The manager… manager of the Red Sox that night (Halloween) was also very welcoming and available. This was our first visit but will not be our last!

The service is very good. Food is creative and fresh. However I ordered the Veal Chop special. It was just a plain, deep fried Veal. Bland with no gravy, etc. I didn't eat it. No credit on bill. But the owner did everything possible to remedy this. Great cocktails.

Great restaurant! We were having dinner before a show at PPAC. We all loved what we had (Scallop meal, Bolognese and 2 veal dishes). The portions are good and the service was great!

Poor acoustics. Quite noisy and difficult to carryon an intimate conversation even though the place was not full. Suggest more noise dampening
