The George on the Riverwalk is in the downtown area of Wilmington, North Carolina. A great location, along with the great food, have helped to make this a very popular eatery. You can find inside or outside seating right on the river. As one of the only dog friendly restaurants in the area, we welcome your furry friends! We provide heated decks in the winter as well as amazing views of the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge, the USS North Carolina Battleship and amazing sunset views year around! Whether you choose to visit us by car or boat, we provide 3 hour parking vouchers for the lot across the street and have a 90ft floating dock located directly on the Cape Fear River!!

We enjoyed a restaurant on the river that we had not been to yet. The view with the sunset is beautiful as usual for Wilmington. We started with PEI mussels in white wine sauce with garlic and tomatoes. It had bright flavor with lots of garlic to spread on the toasted bed. Sauce was great for sopping up. I forgot the picture of those. The fried chicken breast with Cajun gravy, mashed potatoes and collard greens was so crispy you could hear it when it was cut. The gravy was creamy and with good spice. The blackened catfish was cooked to a crisp outer layer and definite blackened spice. It was served with grits that kind of dissolved in the broth. The broth was loaded with corn, okra and tomatoes along with more seafood including shrimp and mussels. Both are very filling dishes.

We had an excellent experience at The George on the Riverwalk! The setting is great, overlooking the river. The staff were all very professional and courteous. Our server was fantastic and the food was wonderful. It was a great evening and we look forward to returning.

Beautiful setting and great service! Food is just okay. Better options such as Elijah’s for view and wonderful food.

Great dining experience. From the hostess to the waitstaff it was excellent! Food was delicious! Lamb chops and Risotto were so tender and delicious. Fried chicken also great. Nice spot sitting on the water watching the sunset! Perfect!

The George on the Riverwalk is simply on of the best culinary expirences in Wilmington. Our party had an 8pm reservation. The restaurant let us get a couple drinks at the bar before we sat down. Cocktails were delicious. We decided to order tapa style and shared. Can't recommend this place more.
