Independent & proud. Since our 2016 restoration we've believed in creating good times. Being somewhere for everyone to feel at home.

From cosy pub dining, to eating alfresco on our covered, heated courtyard. A private party in our room 'upstairs' - even an overnight stay in one of seven ensuite rooms; The George makes the most comfortable of backdrops, whatever the occasion.

Find our pub & inn in the pretty village of Maulden, in the heart of the Bedfordshire countryside. Nestled on the famous Greensands Ridge Walk & a 30 minute walk to the market town of Ampthill.

Everything at The George is lovingly prepared onsite. Every dish fresh where possible & thoughtfully sourced.

Most of our dishes is prepared lovingly on site daily by our chefs. It is important to us that what we serve is done well for you to enjoy. Our menu changes in line with the season.

Our " UPSTAIRS " private room is a perfect place to spend with family and friends catching up. You have the room to yourselves whilst we look after you " Home from Home " Seats up to 18 comfortably, is fitted with air conditioning and has its own private wc. The room has a balcony which overlooks views of our grass area, bedrooms and the picturesque St Marys Church. To book this room please contact us to check availability. It is not suitable for wheelchair access.

Great table outside but under cover made for a very pleasant lunch with friends. Good choice of dishes.

It was a birthday meal for myself and my wife. As I had mentioned this my first drinks was free. The staff were very good and this made for a very pleasant evening

We visited Tge George to celebrate my husbands birthday. The food was great and the service was excellent. We will definitely be going back soon

We had two Sunday roasts, a glass of prosecco and half of Moretti. No starter and no dessert. including the service charge, it came to just over £55, so it is not a cheap Sunday lunch.

Great service, friendly staff a good food. Has a lovely outdoor bar and seating area which is heated and well lit. Ambient music was upbeat and fun, but not too loud to drown out conversation. My only negative was that the car park was full (I guess this was due to the popularity of the pub).

Service could be a bit quicker. Lots of staff but they manage to walk past without you being able to get their attention Our table was too close to the next one and we had to put up with a child climbing over the seats to get out from behind their table

We had an early reservation so it was quiet. But it gradually filled up as we ate a delicious dinner staff were friendly and attentive would certainly go again hence would definitely recommend
