The beautifully refurbished George Hotel offers not only fine dining and comfort dishes in the colonial inspired décor of the restaurant, but an array of cocktails in the lavish Bobbie's Bar, as well as decadent Afternoon Teas in the botanical haven that is the Orangery.

We book via OpenTable and ended up sitting in the bar where we thought we had booked the restaurant. Despite being busy on valentines evening the manager found space for us and we enjoyed a very good meal! The lamb was exceptional and service matched. Will dine here again in the future. Thanks

Always an excellent meal, service, staff very friendly. This is definitely our most visited restaurant, we just love it and the prices are very good.

Excellent setting for three ladies that don’t do lunch enough!! Food was lovely, staff were so friendly and helpful, the setting was spacious and beautiful, toilets luxurious and such a delightful atmosphere. I would have to say the noise level was moderate but we were contributors to this and everyone was obviously having a great time with friends and family.

Beautiful place with warm atmosphere. Friendly staff. We were very early and they were very accommodating. Toilets clean and beautiful decor. Restaurant felt comfortable and had relaxing feel to it. Lovely food, slightly expensive for a plate of pasta but was delicious. We had a relaxing meal in beautiful surroundings. We will definitely go back with friends and family for special occasions.

We were very lucky to get a table at a few days notice in the Christmas period, as it's always a good place to eat!

We were welcomed and shown to our table. We were meeting friends that we had met on holiday and this was our first outing together. Although another friend had recommended The George it’s always a gamble when you have not been before. There was no need to worry as the ambience and quality of food was fantastic. We chose from the Christmas menu and were delighted. We will definitely be back.

We booked a table for a team lunch and had to call a couple of times to make additions to the booking, they were amazing and accommodated our last min changes thankfully and we went on to have a lovely lunch. its a beautiful space with impeccable decor - everyone loved it and food was delicious so thank you :)
