The best menu I’ve seen in a long time. The food was delicious, the perfect food for a bank holiday Sunday!

Had a lovely meal with two friends. Food was very good. The service was slow but the staff were friendly and helpful (when we did find/see them!) Overall it's somewhere we would return to if we didnt have any other plans to get to.

After seeing good reviews of the George & Heart we thought we would give it a first visit for Sunday lunch. Staff wanted to place us outside but on wanting to go inside we were first offered a very small bar style table but eventually were grudgingly offered a table in the main restaurant. We then had to wait 10+ minutes without any waiter approaching us before we had to ask if we could order lunch. The Sunday roast was excellent - tasty beef and well presented. A waiter then asked if we wanted a dessert and said she would bring a menu. This never materialised. After waiting some time we paid and left. As a general observation there were plenty of staff but they seemed to spend a lot of time laughing and joking amongst themselves when they should be interacting and serving the customers. Also the waiting staff seemed to service all tables, where, maybe, one waiter should look after several tables only to provide continuity of service for the customer, for instance we had 3 different waiters but we still received poor service.

My daughter and i had an early dinner we chose the small plate option and shared 4 dishes . They were all superb , service very friendly end engaging and the guest cocktail was unusual and v drinkable . Definitely would recommend the George & Heart

The food was of very good quality and presented well, despite the limited choice. I was delighted to see that gluten free options were on the menu (so no having to ask what I could safely eat). The waiting staff were polite and thoughtful. They spontaneously replaced carafes of water when they saw these were empty. We felt unrushed and enjoyed the relaxed ambience.

Overall a good experience but the kitchen is a bit disorganised. Order was for asparagus with samphire which turned up without samphire and no one seemed to think we would notice. Samphire is noticeable.
