A proper British country pub... That sums us up perfectly! Nestled in the village of Chacombe and just a short drive off of junction 11 of the M40 the George and Dragon offers friendly and officiant service, excellent quality pub classics, pizza oven and lighter bites, not forgetting tempting desserts. Our bar is host to healthy selection of real cask ales, lagers, wines and an impressive gin collection. Each Tuesday evening is Pie Night at the George, serving a selection of short crust pastry pies to choose from. Please contact a member of our team should you wish to book a table over 6.

    Four of us had lunch and we all went for the pies. I cannot recommend them strongly enough. I had the the Steak and Stilton and it was full of steak in a rich gravy. One of our party had the steak and kidney in suet pastry, it was very well received, but only order if you have a good appetite as it was huge. A good selection of real ales and wine by the glass.

    Another lovely Sunday roast at the pub. It's a regular visit for us now. People, food and the atmosphere are all great. Thanks to the team there. See you soon.

    We had a great time. A lovely country pub with lots of character and the food was delicious. The kids shared a pizza and a dessert as the servings were big. Servers were lovely too. Would definitely return.

    Great all round. Only issue is reversing out of a very tight driveway to the car park which was so full we couldn’t turn round …. Great sign as the pub was busy, happy, and buzz y! We were in the restaurant which was quieter but was perfect for a girls catch up!

    The food was outstanding but after 40 minutes nobody had taken our order and had to be promoted. Had to then wait for food, I am aware it was busy but it would be helpful to be told that there would be a long wait. As a result we did not order desserts. We would return but probably not at a Saturday lunchtime

    A marvellous building in a beautiful village - a perfect venue for a perfect lunch. And the food - such taste! All six of us are looking forward to returning for another treat as soon as possible.

    The food was absolutely stunning. The smash burger was to die for and the pizza was a large size and so tasty. Had squid and Camembert starter which was absolutely gorgeous would definitely go back again.
