Located in downtown Wilmington, The Garden at Bardea is the fifth restaurant concept from the James Beard-nominated Bardea Restaurant group. This outdoor space promises to become the city's go-to destination for alfresco dining and a good time. Guests can expect a dynamic outdoor dining room, with a mix of lounge and traditional seating surrounded by lush planters and fountains. Retractable awnings provide shade during the day, while fire pits and heaters keep guests cozy after dark. This place is literally the in-between for Bardea and Bardea Steak. Limited, more casual menu. Good food for a nice night out. Calamari has an Asian twist - almost Teriyaki. Shrimp cocktail has nice big shrimp. Burger was good. Pasta was surprisingly just okay.

Excellent food. Great atmosphere. Our favorite restaurant in Wilmington hands down. The service is a bit inconsistent and slow. We far prefer this over the other Bardea's as the music is SO LOUD!!

Lovely garden ambience in good weather, friendly service, delicious bronzino, small serving of salmon but tasty. Nice Saturday night out

We typically eat at the bar inside Bardea however we wanted to try out the Garden and see how we liked it. I must say - I think it was our favorite Bardea experience to date. We have been MANY times to bardea and it truly never disappoints but this experience felt even better. I think the laid back cozy yet open environment made the experience what it was. The food was phenomenal of course! The Ahi Tuna was a favorite for sure! We loved the space and can’t wait to come back!

This place was a nice hidden gem. I found it online before a concert at the opera house. Best calamari we’ve ever had. Waitstaff was amazing and very friendly.

We have eaten inside at Bardea previously, and the noise level was too much for us. Last night we ate outside on a lovely warm evening and the atmosphere was perfect. Our group of four shared a number of small plates. The Elk meatballs were exceptional and the crab gnocchi and the red pepper risotto were delicious, as was everything else. Only minor complaint is that the various sauces were amazing (not a complaint!!!), but we had no bread to sop up the sauces(I’m a member of the clean plate club!). We eventually realized this and asked for a few slices of bread, and about 10 minutes later were served a bread board of four slices of very warm crusty bread. The bread was excellent, but it was kinda too late, it was too crusty to sop, and I imagine it was fairly pricey (but, since I never actually saw the check details in this all-digital world, I’m only speculating). Providing some bread with the meal would have made this a perfect dining experience.

Dined outside last Friday and enjoyed some great live music! The Garden was buzzing and the night was beautiful! We had great service and the food was delicious! We had pizza, meatballs, salad, and the burger and fries! Everything was so good! Will be back! Oh- and the drinks were great too!

HORRIBLE!! The waiter knew nothing about the menu when questioned. Staff wondering about aimlessly as our water glasses are empty. Served the wrong food. Plus a very scary crowd. Definitely will not be back.
