I have wanted to do the tea service here for years but had a hard time scheduling it because of their limited hours. I finally had an opportunity and was very surprised to see they only had a handful of guests despite showing limited tables available. The place was a ghost town. The menu was typical of tea service however they only had 3 tea options which was another surprise since most tea services offer varietals. The petit fours and sandwiches were a massive disappointment. The pastries tasted as if they had just been pulled from the fridge and were very dry and tasteless. I didn’t bother to finish mine and didn’t take them home. The sandwiches were extremely small, even by tea service standards, but it didn’t matter because half of them were stale anyway. Part of what you’re paying for is ambiance and the room is a stunning display of classic Art Deco Los Angeles but it’s tempered by the barrage of tourists walking by our table to take photos at the fountain or influencers posing on the stairs. The harpist is a nice touch but every song was a Disney cover which just felt weird. The tea service is one of the more expensive experiences in LA (more than The Huntington Rose Room with admission!) so at this price point I absolutely expected better quality. I would have had a better experience simply ordering a latte from the bar and sitting at one of the tables surrounding the court.

This was one of the best experiences I've had. My sister and I went on June 1st to celebrate 3 years of sobriety. The staff went above and beyond for us, giving us apple cider instead of champagne, making sure we had everything we needed, and were SO friendly! They took pics of me and my sister on top of the stairs also, and they turned out great! The tea was so incredibly good- I had the one that was specially created for the Biltmore's 100th anniversary. The food and sweets were DELICIOUS- it didn't look like a lot but it filled us up and was so dang good. We already said that we're going to make the high tea service an annual event. It really made our whole weekend and was a phenomenal way to celebrate sobriety. We even dressed up in tea outfits. I can't wait to do it again. Thank you all, again. I'm so grateful for that experience and memory. Also- the chicken pastry, macaron, and pistachio cake were my favorites!!

The listing for my reservation for “Magical Mother’s Day” showed images of tea, had a generic description and linked to the tea menu on open table. So it was quite a surprise when my mother and I showed up to a dismal buffet in the basement that was about $50 more per person than what was advertised when I booked. If that’s not a bait and switch I don’t know what is. Staff said that we weren’t the only ones to be misled. But it seems (by reading these comments) this has also happened previously, I’m not sure what they’ve done to prevent this kind of miscommunication/ misleading booking. It was really disappointing to happen on Mother’s Day.

We thought we reserved for afternoon tea but it turned out they don’t have afternoon tea on Sundays. They had only brunch and we were afraid to pay the cancellation fee. We ended up paying more than $500 and the food was so bad. So disappointed

This event was falsely advertised. It is held in this basement banquet hall with no windows and is not a tea service. It is a buffet inside of a large room filled with tables. Overall very over priced and not what we expected.
