    Dinner with work colleagues. The ambience was great informal and welcoming. Service was excellent, food was good exactly as described on the menu. Would go again for a great experIence of dining in Chicago, a vibrant atmosphere!

    The Gage was wonderful! The food and drinks were terrific. Our server and the whole staff made us feel like family. Wonderful!

    A fantastic spot on Michigan Ave for a late dinner. Had two items that sounded intriguing and they were delicious. “Compressed” watermelon and feta salad. Delicious summer treat! Generous portion to share. Welcoming vibe and friendly service.

    Great local spot in the heart of downtown.Wonderful food and drink and the owner is actually there to make sure all is good! The wedge salad is one of the best, add a protein and you have yourself a meal. Our friends loved the pasta and the chicken with coconut curry. Nice wine selection. Service is outstanding!

    food and drinks are amazing. great environment. my favorite is the lobster roll. but all the food is great.

    The service was perfect. Our waiter was attentive but not overbearing. My son had the fried chicken lobster which is fried lobster. Perfectly made. Perfectly seasoned. Juicy and not dry. I do suggest a butter sauce to go with it. The truffle fries were delicious. I had the ribeye and algonto whipped potatoes. The steak was done perfect medium rare. Loved the whipped horseradish. The mashed potatoes were divine. Overall, a perfect place. There is only one problem. The manager. We were seated not far from the main check in area. About 3 feet. The manager kept snapping at each server and wait staff. At one point, he clapped his hands in front a servers face to then tables quicker. At no point ever should a manager or anyone snap at anyone for anything around guests. Period. He seemed rude, obnoxious, no class at all, especially, when service, food and atmosphere were spot on perfect. I am a manager of a law firm and at no time do I ever discuss behind the scenes things around clients. You take those items to the back or wait until later. Tacky. But, did not ruin our experience at all. All staff should be commended for a perfect service and the chefs and cooks applauded.

    We shared Fried Pickles and then we all three had Fish and Chips. For dessert, we shared the Basque Cheesecake. Everything was delicious as were our drinks. We chose to sit outside because it was such a perfect Chicago day. As a result, the noise level was very loud and we were consistently bothered by bees! This was not our first time at The Gage and certainly not our last.

    Wonderful evening with family and friends in a buzzy warm restaurant. Food excellent .. we loved our hunk of cheese and those that had the lobster raved about it. Great spot we will be back.
