The Front Porch is an intimate restaurant featuring creative Southern Coastal Cuisine located in historic Leonardtown. Set within the Sterling House, we offer casual dining in a cozy atmosphere and our friendly staff delivers gracious service.

We are open for outside, dine-in downstairs and dine-in upstairs seating by reservation only. Outside seating is weather permitting and available in order of booking. Outside seating is only available if you are given the option when you confirm your reservation.. Please call for any party in excess of 8 people. Please call if anyone in your party can not walk upstairs. We do not have an elevator. If you cannot show up for your reservation... Please call and cancel. PLEASE!

Front Porch is known for its great atmosphere and dinners. The Brunch we had was average. Ok hamburgers and French Toast. The chicken and Waffles were cooked good but sauce that was served was too sweet. We expected more but that’s what it’s like living in this area. Sometimes you get great food and service, sometimes you don’t. That’s Southern Maryland living.

We dine here a lot and this was embarrassing for me. I brought a couple I had not met to conduct business. The service was atrocious and even though my guests ordered dessert - which took longer to receive than the original meal and while waiting for those to arrive, our empty plates sat on the table in the way. Though vacated tables around us were cleared of dishes, no one offered to clear ours. Mind you, the empties at our table included drink glasses (iced tea and wine) and our server never asked if we wanted another. The saving grace was a server named Melissa. She was not working our room, however upon flagging her down, she came to the rescue and got empties cleared and desserts brought. Worst experience of the otherwise good ones, and the last time I will bring out of town guests to entertain or talk business. Horrible experience.

I would like to apologize for your less than stellar experience. I am glad that Melissa was able to somewhat salvage your evening. I will speak with the servers and hosts about being more attentive and noticing when dishes need to be cleared. Our hostess is trained to clear empty tables to seat new guests waiting at the door as quickly as possible, so I will certainly acknowledge her single-minded focus. You are correct in observing that your server should have been more aware of your needs at the time. It sounds like you normally have a great experience at the Front Porch, so I hope you can look past one off evening and we can strive to do better next time. It would be unfortunate to stop patronage due to one bad experience of many, but I understand. Jordan Walker General Manager

The Front Porch is always consistent. The atmosphere is wonderful, the service is second to none and the food never disappoints. I will always recommend the front porch.

This was a special get together with a group visiting Leonardtown for the first time. The food was very good and the service exceptional. The table was set and ready for us before we arrived! The Front Porch has a great location, and was a perfect start to our afternoon.

We had a very nice dinner at Front Porch. My partner had the pork shank and I had the chicken and waffles. Both were very good and well served. Portions very generous. Our server Sabrina really made the evening. She was attentive and friendly not overbearing, knowledgeable about the food. Overall an enjoyable experience and we would look forward to a return visit!

Really enjoyed the front porch salad with salmon, perfectly cooked! Husband loved the seared tuna salad as well.

We sat outside on the porch which was lovely. The service was friendly and prompt and the food (Siracha Shrimp Salad, Reuben Sandwich) was delicious and well prepared and generous portions. The prices were very reasonable. We were visiting family in Maryland but would definitely return to the Front Porch when back in the area.

The Front Porch continues to offer and provide an outstanding array of delectable food on its menu. We are never disappointed every time we share a meal there. Wait staff is ever available and extremely courteous and helpful. The Front Porch at the top of places to return to for future date nights and taking guest to dinner.

The Front Porch has a great atmosphere and aesthetic that made the perfect ending to our day of adventure. The food was so delicious and the drinks were good too! While all the food was tasty, the fries were some of the best we have had! Definitely get a side for the table to share. The tuna poke nachos and bacon and Brussels were table favorites too!
