The Friendly Society is Elora's best-loved neighborhood restaurant. The decor is romantic yet rustic, the vibe is hip and comfortable, and the atmosphere is always welcoming. It is located on the river, steps from the Elora Mill, with a licensed patio and live music in the summer.

Chef Marc Gebran offers classic elevated comfort food with a focus on local and seasonal ingredients. Our well-stocked bar offers a wide range of beers, a lovingly-curated wine list, and a full cocktail menu.

Great atmosphere, the main I got was smaller than a salad, but was priced higher. We were also seated for 45 minutes before we received our drinks. Beautiful spot but service was not great that night and some items are over priced for what you get.

First time visiting and it was a great experience. My boyfriend and i went for his birthday and we did the all you can eat Sunday brunch. Really good tapas style brunch items. I would definitely recommend this place. The inside is beautiful and cozy especially set up for fall. Would definitely go back again

This is for sure my favourite local restaurant! We loved the tapas sized plates, so you can have tons of variety for brunch!! All of our food came out quickly and our server Avery was friendly and fun. We will for sure book brunch again!

Had a lovely brunch with my girlfiriends. Food and service are great. We came from Brampton and the long drive is so worth it.

The Friendly Society is a family favourite as my mom lives in Elora. We had a little hiccup with my most recent order as I had to substitute tuna for tofu (unfortunately they have increasingly limited vegan options so I had to make my own meal, which they were very open to!). Sadly the tofu was very undercooked and I was given a very small portion seeing as I was charged the same price as tuna…however, the restaurant manager was amazingly responsive when I brought this all to her attention and they did everything to make it all right. I will be back again and recognize that things happen but it’s how it is handled that matters!

Not sure what all the hoopla is. Food was ok. Wife order shrimp bowl with NO guacamole. Guess what? Came with guacamole and rice was cold (thought it would be hot). I ordered the Lebanese chicken. Not much to it. Waitress said it came with flavourful rice. Came with plain steam rice. Naan bread was the mini ones you get at Costco. Overall nothing comped. With app, dessert and tip around $150. Don’t think I’ll be back.

The burgers were amazing. We sat outside on the patio but it was later in the evening so very little traffic noise.
