The French Quarter is a relaxed neighbourhood restaurant & wine Bar in a community of unique and quirky businesses in Newcastle city Centre. We are a friendly and approachable team of people, with a passion for the good things in life. Born from nostalgia for a traditional style of commerce and a desire to challenge perceptions that French dining is formal or fussy, we work with independent suppliers to offer a regularly changing wine list & tapas style menu. We have created a casual and sociable environment where customers are invited to experience our food, try our wines, shop from our deli and share our love of all things French!

Delicious small plate styled menu with beautiful dishes. A modern twist on French dishes and an excellent wine list. We enjoyed the bavette steak and the cheese platter especially. The service was light and entertaining, and we had a wonderful evening. Would highly recommend.

Lovely authentic food coupled with superb service makes the French Quarter well worth a visit. We were there on a Saturday night and it was busy but we were very well looked after.

Visited our favourite place yesterday for my husbands birthday. The French Quarter never disappoints. Amazing service by informative and friendly staff, great food and delicious wines! We look forward to coming back

Food was delicious - we chose a variety of dishes from the specials board and the main menu. All lovely. Portion sizes were fine, apart from the five slices of bread - that's pretty much going to cause arguments for any size table! Bread was lovely though! Staff were exemplary - helpful, attentive without being overbearing, perfectly polite. Restaurant itself is nice - no thumping music, so conversation was easy. Would definitely return if I'm in the area.

The food and service was excellent. It’s a lovely find and a very enjoyable dining experience. Would definitely go back to try some more dishes.

We love the food, ambience and service of this wonderful restaurant. However the first part of our meal was marred by a table of very loud, drunk students laughing and speaking loudly, waving their phones. I wish staff had asked them to quiet down or leave. It was so bad I could not hear what my husband was trying to say to me. It was my birthday meal so I was annpyed.
