The French Quarter is a relaxed neighbourhood restaurant & wine Bar in a community of unique and quirky businesses in Newcastle city Centre. We are a friendly and approachable team of people, with a passion for the good things in life. Born from nostalgia for a traditional style of commerce and a desire to challenge perceptions that French dining is formal or fussy, we work with independent suppliers to offer a regularly changing wine list & tapas style menu. We have created a casual and sociable environment where customers are invited to experience our food, try our wines, shop from our deli and share our love of all things French!

Our waiter was lovely, very informative and attentive. Food was lovely, the duck was amazing. I loved the interior of the restaurant also.

It was our first time to the French Quarter and not sure where to park so we walked down from the Gate parking and it was within easy reach. Also there was loads of parking nearby. We were on time and received a really friendly welcome and seated straight away. The restaurant is in a railway arch so we didn’t know what to expect but was surprised how lovely a feel the restaurant had. A lovely bistro feel. There were an enormous range of lovely wines to choose from but with lunch we decided to stay with some water. The waiter went through the full menu giving us his recommendations and different pairings that would go together. We were left to discuss our decisions and then made our choices with a request to share between each other. Everything was timely relaxed yet still attentive. The staff are first class. The food was absolutely delicious and I mean a delight. The flavours and cooking was first class. We didn’t choose from the lunch menu which was interesting but chose from the main menu and had three different starters, two mains and a selection of desserts all of which were delicious and tasty and very French (just yummy). It is definitely a restaurant we will visit on a regular basis from now on when we visit Newcastle. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Absolutely brilliant venue - food, wine and service were faultless. If I had to recommend one restaurant in Newcastle city centre this would be it.

Super meal. Whilst the fans to move the air around were helpful, the heat upstairs was very uncomfortable. Think this needs addressing in some way. Happy evening.

Been to this restaurant a few times but this time we found the food to be smaller portions. Still delicious and service great. Wine was lovely. Overall good but probably wouldn’t go back now. Steaks too small for a main course
