The French Quarter is a relaxed neighbourhood restaurant & wine Bar in a community of unique and quirky businesses in Newcastle city Centre. We are a friendly and approachable team of people, with a passion for the good things in life. Born from nostalgia for a traditional style of commerce and a desire to challenge perceptions that French dining is formal or fussy, we work with independent suppliers to offer a regularly changing wine list & tapas style menu. We have created a casual and sociable environment where customers are invited to experience our food, try our wines, shop from our deli and share our love of all things French!

Loved our first visit. Excellent service. They staff member behind the bar (from Oban I Scotland) was very good and very friendly. Liked the small plates / tapas style menu with plenty of choice. Will definitely be back.

Great ambience. French bistrot menu, but served as ‘small plates’. Purists might struggle with the concept of ‘French tapas’, but the quality of the individual dishes was excellent. And a quality wine list. Highly recommend.

Very warm welcome from extremely helpful friendly staff. Absolutely delicious food and wine , really enjoyed the whole experience.

Our first time visit and we weren’t disappointed. Good atmosphere, but very loud as tables are quite close to each other. Food was excellent and plentiful as long as you don’t over order (side orders are enough for two each) Good wine list as you would expect. Definitely will return when in Newcastle.

Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Lively atmosphere but not too noisy. Food was excellent plus there’s an extensive choice of wines. Would definitely go again.
