Call in here for our anniversary meal and the food was lovely, we had the chicken and leek pie and the fox burger both very enjoyable and the Nutella filled doughnuts and honeycomb ice cream finished it off perfectly.

We stayed overnight at the Fox and had dinner in the restaurant. Very happy with everything, particularly the staff who were friendly and efficient.

Food was delicious. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Pub is in a very attractive spot. The dining room was very attractive. Would recommend this pub highly.

The food at the Fox is delicious, and the staff are friendly, attentive and fun. We ate inside and the food came quickly. It's always a lovely place to visit.

Service was very disappointing. Drinks were served in a fashion similar to collecting a take away - a can and a glass and sort yourself!!. When my elderly father had problem pouring his drink and spilt some there was a reluctance to help or apologise for not offering to help pour. The vinegar was provided in a dispenser that was broken so when used by one of the party resulted in vinegar drowning his food. Again no concern or offer of help offered by the waiting staff. The other frustration was a reluctance of the waiting staff to clear previous course plates and crockery. Next course was bought to the table before the previous had been cleared and the previous was then only removed when asked for it to be. Whilst I can accept everyone makes mistakes if I am a paying customer I would expect some humility and apology for the errors. We visited the Fox twice last year and were very impressed with all aspects which makes this trip even more disappointing.

Lovely location by the river and lovely food. Not a massive menu choice but a good range to suit most.

Very poor choice for gluten free. I chose the Smoked Chicken Ceasar Salad, it was not at all nice. The chicken had a slimy almost raw texture and the salad was dressed in so much dressing it was almost like soup. If you don't have any special dietary needs (medical rather than life style choice) then you'll be OK. The rest of my party enjoyed their food, but portions seems to be getting smaller and prices have definitely gone up by about £1 per dish, including desserts. We go regularly for drinks as we are local, but doubt if we will eat there again any time soon.

Our little secret. But it appears the words out. What a fantastic place to eat and stay. All staff brilliant and the location is awesome.
