The Fox and Hounds is a gastro pub and restaurant, nestling in the heart of the beautiful village of Whittlebury, South Northamptonshire. We’re just a stone’s throw from the home of motor sport – Silverstone – and close to the market towns of Towcester, Brackley and Buckingham.

Inside, the team have created a comfortable and welcoming environment, perfect for you to relax, socialise, eat and unwind. Open to the whole family.

Our Head Chef has created a menu for all tastes and occasions. From a light bite or traditional pub food in the bar, to modern brasserie dishes served in one of our dining rooms, we cater for every occasion.

Staying at Whittlebury, here for the F1GP, and as it was raining all day today, we decided to go to The Fox & Hounds for lunch. What a brilliant decision. The food was wonderful, really good beer & wine, and the lady that served us (didn’t catch her name) was so lovely…. Friendly, efficient, made us so welcome- thank you.

Absolutely lovely experience & received a warm welcome & great service. Really enjoyed the Asparagus starter and Roast Pork main. Have no hesitation recommending!

We enjoyed whitebait & onion bhaji nibbles as starters, very generous portions then the lamb rump with crushed garlic potatoes. The lamb was cooked to perfection and so tender. The good here us always stunning

Fantastic food. Well worth the slightly higher than average prices. The Tandoori Lamb Scotch Egg was amazing!! Food worthy of a decent restaurant at a village pub!! Highly recommended.

We were welcomed by the staff behind the bar and after ordering our drinks we sat at the table we chose to eat at. We did not have starters but did not have to wait long for our delicious meals. My husband had Haddock with chips & mushy peas I had Hake with new potatoes & Asparagus. Both meals had generous portions and were incredibly well cooked. We enjoyed our meals so much we returned on Sunday for roast dinner. Both of us had RoastPork served with apple sauce, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, cabbage roast carrot. The cauliflower cheese and a generous jug of gravy arrived separately. Every aspect of our meals was simply wonderful. Top marks to the chef and every member of staff, they were welcoming polite and extremely attentive throughout our entire time in the restaurant on both days. I wish we lived locally 👍🤩

Found the Fox and Hounds on the off-chance of a decent meal on the way to an event. Am I glad we stopped there. Very very quiet on a Saturday lunchtime but a full team on duty and the food was really really good. Smoked Haddock Kedgeree was creamy and scrummy, Fried Halloumi with pesto mayonnaise was crispy on the outside and meltingly soft on the inside, and the lamb scotch eggs on coronation slaw just perfect. The mains were just as good (Hake x3 + Pork loin chop) - all faultless, and after that the Rhubarb & Custard Pavlova and the Sticky Toffee Pudding were a perfect finish. Thank you team, that was one of the best lunches I've had in a long time. I hope I'm passing Whittlebury again because it is well worth the detour.

A great find - friendly team looking after us and great menu - 3 of us, 3 course and all very very happy. Plenty more choice to come back for!
