Very friendly and knowledgeable staff The chef even came out to introduce himself and describe one of his signature dishes. The sommelier from Belgium was very knowledgeable and our waitress, a college student, was polite, attentive and resourceful. Overall it was a very good dining experience.

As usual, the 4 Chimneys did not disappoint. Food, service, ambience are all exceptional. Highly recommended for any occasion.

Decided to go to Four Chimneys to top off a day trip to Bennington, noting the great reviews. My admittedly picky assessment: great, verging on the precipice to outstanding. Typical New England Inn delightful ambience, if a bit lacking such as the artificial flower on the table and a few light bulbs out on the chandelier. All the staff was very pleasant and attentive, though the constant mix of who was our server what with multiple people coming over throughout, led to inconsistent and overlapping service. None of the above detracted from the excellent meal we had starting with the crab slider, simply outstanding. This followed a wonderful puff shrimp teaser, complimentary, but the staff wasn’t sure what was in it. Again, not a big deal, but separating the best from the very best. Our main courses were also wonderful; I had the duck, which had an Asian flair that was great. Crispy duck, wonderful roasted Brussels sprouts, and a great wild rice croquette. My wife had the halibut, again excellent, with a cauliflower purée. We had an excellent apple tart for dessert. All in all a fabulous meal at a very reasonable price. A small notch up by the establishment would put this on par with a place like Old Inn on the Green in New Marlborough MA, the southern Berkshires. Go Four Chimneys.

Beautiful setting, owner right on-site/involved and working right along-side staff, food excellent, and Carlos, our server was wonderful. Right balance of fine dining, coupled with a relaxed/comfortable atmosphere. Our (5 people total) second time on-site, and will surely be back.

We had a wonderful dinner in the porch with lighted views of the garden. Endive salad for me was wonderful lightly dressed with a vinaigrette. My husband had the spinach salad which he said was very good. We split the entree Salmon en Croute. The salmon was also very good. I would highly recommend the restaurant and the inn.

I don’t think I have ever been to a restaurant where I wanted to try absolutely everything on the menu. Our server confirmed all the dishes were amazing so it was difficult to make a choice. My husband and I both chose well (duck annd salmon) and it was one of the best meals we’ve ever had.

Dinner at The Four Chimneys Inn was very special - - innovative and delicious. The charming ambiance of the Inn, the professional friendly staff, superb food all made for a truly wonderful dining experience.

Wonderful, very talented chef, kudos! Food was truly delectable: seasonings well-balanced, beautifully plated, tender proteins and unique sides. The piece de resistance, going old school fabulous, was the amuse-bouche (tiny plate chef creation apres first course) and the succulent entrement (palate cleanser) which brought us back to when fine dining was an experience...very lovely and appreciated addition. The bar served quite a "nice pour" and very reasonably priced for cocktails, esp in today's overpriced market. We all enjoyed our meals and Sarah, our wait staff, was attentive, friendly yet non-obtrusive. Most enjoyable evening. Our only personal wish of change would be relocating this dining experience to Manchester, a closer ride for us.
