The Fountain Ashurst is a 16th Century Pub located in the beautiful village of Ashurst, West Sussex.

It is quintessentially English with flagstone flooring, low beams and plenty of cosy corners and comfortable seating.

Extremely popular all year round, you can enjoy our stunning landscaped gardens and pond area outside during the Summer months including the infamous 'beach area'. During the colder months we boast two large fireplaces in both areas of our bar for you to cosy up in and enjoy a warming beverage.

The pub has a traditional atmosphere; a fire was lit when we arrived adding to the welcoming feel. Local ales were Harvey's and Longman on this occasion. The service was friendly and helpful and most importantly the food presentation and serving size and flavour exceeded expectation. Highly recommended and we will be booking again soon.

Delightful surroundings and ambiance. Lovely friendly yet professional staff. Varied menu. Wholesome, well prepared food.

A fantastic friendly pub. Perfect ambience. Food- homecooked and tremendous, my son who is a chef said he would highly recommend this pub.

I find it is always hit and miss here. It's a great location, a great building and the serving staff are really good. But the wait time for food can take ages and the managers can be sniffy. Last night the pub was almost empty but we were put at the worst table, tucked away at the back of the pub, next to a party of 10 and the table was both sticky and smelled of disinfectant. We moved without problem but it was an odd choice to put us there. They were quick to take our orders and very attentive but the food took a very long time to arrive, despite the pub being mostly empty. Average overall.

Very good but disappointed that the Seagrass bar wasn’t open. It does not give opening times for that anywhere.

Evening started well, went downhill- food took an hour to arrive! Steak was tough & 2 others didn’t like their food.

Unfortunately we arrived to no vegetarian option available and then there was over an hour wait for food. The manager did apologise as we were leaving however no discounts or free drinks were offered while we waited. The food once it arrived was nice and perfectly edible.

We were very lucky to have Seagrass, a local bluegrass band as entertainment! Made for a stunning afternoon sitting in the sun, listening to the music, and enjoying the very delicious BBQ!!!
