AA 2 Rosette restaurant. The Forge Restaurant in Chester is one of Chester’s best restaurants with delicious food and unrivalled service. With a passion for wild, sustainable British ingredients, and a love of simple cooking over fire and charcoal. The Forge has its kitchen front and centre in the middle of this lovely, and elegant space. Incredible dry-aged beef and wild venison will be found in the maturation cabinets, awaiting their turn on the amazing forge grill, to be lovingly grilled and roasted over beech logs. Head chef Dan Regan, a passionate chef, heads up the young, vibrant team in the kitchen. Combining amazing, wild, sustainable ingredients from land and sea into sumptuous creations that form really memorable eating experiences. We focus on British ingredients, as local to Chester. Our venison, always a hugely popular part of our menus, is harvested from herds on estates that focus on improving biodiversity and deer health – a process we call Farming the Wild.

                                                        We have been once before and were back this time for a special occasion. Super service and the most incredible food. It is expensive but for a special occasion is well worth the expense if you want a gastronomic experience

                                                        Lovely restaurant attached to the hotel. Lovely and clean and great toilets, always a good sign. Nice selection of starters and mains, bit disappointed in the pudding selection but personal choice. Not over generous portions but great when having three courses. Staff were attentive to start but we had to ask for a desert menu after waiting for over half an hour. Service charge included in the bill which to ge honest I should probably have reduced because of the delay. Over a lovely popular restaurant for Sunday lunch.

                                                        We have visited this restaurant previously and on this occasion the menu was considerably smaller. The set menu advertised on the website had a number of options which were wittled down to one offering for starter, main and dessert. Disappointing visit

                                                        Great lunch offer of 3 courses and 3 cocktails for £40. The food was delicious, prepared with care and presented beautifully. Staff were attentive , helpful and friendly. There had been a mistake with one of the starters which was remedied without fuss. The ambience is light and not overcrowded. I would highly recommend the Forge.
