AA 2 Rosette restaurant. The Forge Restaurant in Chester is one of Chester’s best restaurants with delicious food and unrivalled service. With a passion for wild, sustainable British ingredients, and a love of simple cooking over fire and charcoal. The Forge has its kitchen front and centre in the middle of this lovely, and elegant space. Incredible dry-aged beef and wild venison will be found in the maturation cabinets, awaiting their turn on the amazing forge grill, to be lovingly grilled and roasted over beech logs. Head chef Dan Regan, a passionate chef, heads up the young, vibrant team in the kitchen. Combining amazing, wild, sustainable ingredients from land and sea into sumptuous creations that form really memorable eating experiences. We focus on British ingredients, as local to Chester. Our venison, always a hugely popular part of our menus, is harvested from herds on estates that focus on improving biodiversity and deer health – a process we call Farming the Wild.

We have visited this restaurant previously and on this occasion the menu was considerably smaller. The set menu advertised on the website had a number of options which were wittled down to one offering for starter, main and dessert. Disappointing visit

Great lunch offer of 3 courses and 3 cocktails for £40. The food was delicious, prepared with care and presented beautifully. Staff were attentive , helpful and friendly. There had been a mistake with one of the starters which was remedied without fuss. The ambience is light and not overcrowded. I would highly recommend the Forge.

Service was fantastic… went for steak dinner for 2 with a Groupon voucher… I didn’t like the steak that much but for what we paid I’m not complaining…

Lovely environment and setting loved it. we had a deal with offer so price was less than half so even better deal, Be Aware of the wine its costly they charge you extra tax on drinks NOT SURE WHY.

Took parents for a treat. Couldn’t be more pleased, This is our second visit and as before totally looked after from setting foot into restaurant, Asked to move table as a little close to the young lady singing ( father hard of hearing)..was no problem at all, food was excellent as was the Wine..will be be returning at next opportunity..Well done The Forge!

I don’t often leave reviews but WOW. Just WOW. Quite honestly up there with some of the best food I have had!! And the value, we didn’t hold back with what we ate and drank and the bill was a very pleasant surprise. 10/10 would recommend 👌🏻
