The Michelin Starred, Fordwich Arms, located in the smallest town in England, dates as far back as 1828. Draped in ivory and wisteria in the most picturesque location over looking the Great River Stour, the perfect setting for an idyllic summers lunch. Boasting open fireplaces for the colder winter months, creating a cosy and welcoming ambiance.
Daniel and Natasha Smith took over The Fordwich Arms in 2017 and were awarded a Michelin Star within the first year, as well as being in the top 100 gastro pubs in the UK, multiple culinary awards, notable wine awards and various other accredits, a testament to their hair work and talent.
The seasonal menus focus on provenance, showcasing the best of local Kentish ingredients, sourced directly from local farms and producers. Dan's cooking is accomplished yet approachable, served in a relaxed pub environment with a choice of a la carte or tasting menus.

We are extremely excited to be working alongside our friends from Nyetimber, pairing their prestigious 1086 alongside 4 different courses created by Daniel and Natasha Smith. Places are limited and will be sold on a first come first serve basis. This event will be held in a communal dining style in our beautiful oak panelled dining room. Due to the nature of the event we will not be able to cater to dietary requirements. We will operate a 7 day cancellation policy for this event.

What I liked: the food (exceptional flavours and presentation, catered for gluten free), the service (really attentive and excellent knowledge of the food), general experience. What I didn't like so much: having to wait for our table, and being stuck in the corner with a view of the kitchen alley. Also, quite a limited menu (3 options per course) and I've had like the option not to have a dessert/pay for 2 courses). This was on my list of restaurants to visit in Kent, and I'm pleased I had the opportunity to go as the food was delicious.

Friendly and efficient staff in this cosy pub with exceptional food and drink. Thoroughly deserving of their Michelin star, the set lunch is amazing value for money, or push the boat out and have the fabulous tasting menu. Highly recommended!

The service and food were excellent. The room and restaurant setting were beautiful. I would recommend this restaurant and definitely go back

We have been here several times and had always been outstanding. Disappointed we were seated in the bar area, rather than the restaurant. It was very noisy and felt like we were in a pub rather than a Michelin starred restaurant. Apparently the earlier bookings are placed in the restaurant and if you book a later time you are in the bar. Food was excellent, unfortunately lacked the ambience we have experienced previously.
