Afternoon Tea at the Folio Bar & Kitchen is certainly a special occasion. Served on a tiered stand are all the hallmarks of a quintessential English Afternoon tea - scones, finger sandwiches, sweet treats, all masterfully crafted by our in-house Pastry Chef. Not to mention an exquisite selection of teas. For a special treat, feel free to pair your experience with a glass of bubbly. Advanced Booking is required.

I don't usually bother with reviews unless there were serious issues with the food or service, but I'm happy report that everything was very good. The menu offers several vegetarian and vegan options for both starter and mains, which was among the reasons that we decided to give the Folio a try. We went for a midweek lunch, which was very quiet, just a few tables in the dining area. We all had starters and mains plus water and wine. We were all happy with our choices. The service was impeccable and friendly. Dolly and the other gentleman who served up were professional and congenial. We asked for extra bread and it came without anything added to our bill. One of our party was having a birthday, and even though we skipped desserts because we had planned to have them elsewhere, the waitress brought us a complimentary vegan chocolate brownie for the celebrant. We were also happy with the bill. All in all, a wonderful lunch in a lovely setting, with good service, good food and value for money. No complaints at all.

The food was amazing, really good experience which I was expecting and was not disappointed with. The food and drinks were perfect for a night away and nice to have good food with lots of choice.

Engaging welcome from smiling staff who really wanted to look after you. The 10% service charge that was included per person was earned well. Contemporary setting - clean - but nothing out of the ordinary. Hot day too so very warm inside. Mixture of savoury and assorted sweet dishes well presented. Very tasty and rich and enough! The scones were great and generous lashings of cream - excellent. The pool table next to us was being used by hotel guests and the echo was unfortunate hence ambience is not great. My guests thought it was all A1 and couldn’t fault the afternoon. Objective achieved.

We enjoyed a fantastic meal in beautiful modern surroundings. The staff were attentive and helped make our night enjoyable and memorable. I would recommend The Folio Bar & Kitchen to others. Parking was easy.

The food was amazing , prices were reasonable, the staff were brilliant , so welcoming and friendly. At the beginning of the meal, because we were there celebrating my wife's 60th birthday, we were given complementary glasses of Prosecco and at the end , they presented her with a special gluten free dessert with a candle , what a lovely surprise , especially since Micaela had to track us down because we had gone to sit on the verandah area after our meal !!. Pam and Beth also deserve special mention for making the meal a very special occasion. We would thoroughly you give the Folio restaurant a try .

Awful do not waste your money steak was like an old boot service slow and no apology when advised of the steak said yes should of ordered the sirloin

Swanky restaurant, very quiet when we went in, waited for 20 minutes to be served after being seated, friendly staff (but hard to find once they disappear)the food was okay at best, the savouries were quite bland, the sweet bites were alright, nothing exceptional really. Very much middle of the road.

Very impressed with the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff. Great attention to detail in the design ethos for the restaurant, quirky in the just the right way.

This was a last minute booking and it did not disappoint. I was a bit dubious when we arrived and realised it was in a hotel but these doubts were soon quashed. The service was friendly with plenty of people serving. Drinks were served quickly and there are some interesting 'Cambridge themed' cocktails, quite pricey but aren't they always? We had to wait some time for our food, although this isn't a complaint, in fact it's reassuring to know that it's freshly cooked,our accompanying sauces tasted fresh with distinct ingredients and the chicken and veggie dishes we both had were well presented and tasty. The only minus is drinks orders weren't entirely accurate-wrong beer,single not double spirit served and one server who couldn't explain/suggest the cocktail options but these were minor and didn't affect the overall experience. We will return.

The Starters we ordered were really nice we had chick pea arancini and asparagus both were tasty and well presented. For main we both had the Fellows fish and chips which looked really good when they were placed on our table but we soon found out both meals were cold. It appears they had been cooked the same time as our starters were brought out so by the time we got them they had gone cold. The waitress took them away and brought them back five mins later they had been put back in the fryer to warm up again . The food was now hot but quite a lot of grease from the re heat was left on the plate and the chips were the frozen variety not much taste. Also a beer I ordered from the limited menu was not available. It was ok but with so many restaurants to try in Cambridge we would not use again.
