    We came because it was in the hotel that we were staying at. The food was good and the service too.

    We have been to the Florentine several times before, and have always really loved the food. Unfortunately this time it definitely did not live up to our previous experiences. The appetizer meatballs actually came out cold, and they seemed like they had just been heated up (but not successfully) in the microwave. I had read good things about the grilled octopus from someone's review, but what we had was tough, chewy, and fishy tasting. My husband's linguini with clams was okay but kind of bland. The best thing by far was my entree, the agnolotti with veal ragu. However, it was very different from what I pictured. I was thinking it would have a red meat sauce, but it was more like ravioli in a cream sauce with truffles and mushrooms. It was actually very tasty, but had I understood better what it was, I would definitely have ordered a white wine rather than a red.

    Nice downtown destination for business lunch. The food was excellent and service very good. A bit expensive even in todays world. .

    Well, overall it was okay. They didn’t acknowledge the birthday note that was placed on the reservation. Our waiter told us the bottled water was Italian natural spring (which we drink regularly) so we had a good chuckle when he brought out a bottle of Saratoga. Totally fine but don’t tell people this tale. The food was really good, even the pizza. You can taste the freshness in the pasta. Service, mediocre. Asked us if we decided on drinks, but forgot to give us the drink menu, forgot my steak knife, and had to have our 2nd round of drinks remade after he said it looked different to him. Not sure if he could say something to the bar or not, but we sent them back as he implied he thought we would. And again, it was a birthday dinner and we opted to not say anything after no acknowledgment and went to a bar and celebrated there instead. We have no intentions on coming back, even if we are staying at JW again. So many better places to go or try that will likely leave us with a more warm & fuzzy feeling.
