Welcome to the Fleece Inn, Bretforton.
The Fleece Inn is the perfect rural retreat, the quintessential English country pub. Just a stone's throw from the beautiful Cotswolds and boasting roaring open fires for the winter months, open garden and apple orchard for the summer sun and a friendly welcome all year round.
With real ales and ciders aplenty this historical pub is a favourite with Real Ale lovers, and the welcoming atmosphere and good food attract visitors from all over the world.
Seasonal and local ingredients are prized, including our famous Asparagus menu in Spring.

Reservable tables are in the pub (standard) or undercover in our orchard (outdoor). There are lots of orchard picnic tables that are not reserved in advance, available for eating and drinking in the sunshine! Dogs are welcome throughout the pub & orchard.

    Visited for a drink on 19th July. It was a hot day and very busy. The white wine was warm but gave it the benefit of the doubt. Went for dinner on 21st. Waiting staff superb. Husband had prawn cocktail starter - said nice. I hadn’t ordered one but they brought my new potato sides for main as a starter - mistakes happen. Husband had pork Sunday dinner - said ok. I ordered the veggie aubergine main. Absolutely vile - had to dispose of it from mouth into serviette. Tasteless and sinewy horribleness. Oh and wine still warm. When went to pay and asked if meal ok and I said not for me (I couldn’t eat it) - the member of staff offered me a refund if I could regurgitate into a bucket! His demeanour changed when he understood the ‘food’ hadn’t actually been eaten; agreed he had been sarcastic and, to his credit, the item was removed from the bill. In fairness he also offered to put it right if we returned but it was our last night. The pub has amazing history, it has no rivals in the village. I appreciate it’s a country pub but please do better for the vegetarians in the world. Get rid of the rank aubergine (and that tempted me more than butternut squash and pesto (??)). How about a nut roast or a mushroom wellington. Expand your veggie horizons please (oh and ask your staff not to be so rude without knowing the facts).

    Food was lovely (could have been hotter) but service was lacking! We had to keep finding the staff to order anything

    Had a great night at The Fleece Inn Beautiful flowers outside and around the entrance which really brightened up the area. Food was delicious and ambience good. A little bit of a wait for the dessert menus but when desserts arrived we all ate them with great pleasure. Would definitely recommend coming here.

    A fabulous meal in this beautiful old pub. It has a great choice of food, we both opted for the beef and ale pie which was out of this world. There is a big choice of ales and ciders too. We've booked to go again tomorrow

    Fabulous old pub full of ancient bits and bobs. Good location. Friendly staff and good food choices.

    Great meal good value parking a bit difficult so give your self plenty of time Pre book is a must as there is a lot going on with lots of people about.woyld recommend as a place to visit. NT members take your passport book for the stamp.

    A quintessential English pub experience in a picturesque village in the Cotswolds. A truly memorable lunch with friends that was the highlight of our visit to the area. History and dining rolled into one in the most beautiful surroundings. Outstanding (and dog friendly).

    Lovely food, excellent service and extremely good value for money. The table was a little tight because we were seated next to a large table of guests and one guest at our table had to move several times to allow them to leave and return to their table. But overall it was not a problem and it was a nice atmosphere. The staff could not be more helpful and attentive.
