Welcome to the Fleece Inn, Bretforton.
The Fleece Inn is the perfect rural retreat, the quintessential English country pub. Just a stone's throw from the beautiful Cotswolds and boasting roaring open fires for the winter months, open garden and apple orchard for the summer sun and a friendly welcome all year round.
With real ales and ciders aplenty this historical pub is a favourite with Real Ale lovers, and the welcoming atmosphere and good food attract visitors from all over the world.
Seasonal and local ingredients are prized, including our famous Asparagus menu in Spring.

Reservable tables are in the pub (standard) or undercover in our orchard (outdoor). There are lots of orchard picnic tables that are not reserved in advance, available for eating and drinking in the sunshine! Dogs are welcome throughout the pub & orchard.

Sadly not such a great experience this time at The Fleece for food & dining. Our booking went wrong as we changed from an outside to inside table due to the weather. The booking hadn't been changed but we were accommodated & squeezed in next to a table of ten who were so noisy we couldn't talk to each other. We had booked to mark the passing of a parent a couple of weeks ago, in the absence of a funeral & wake, so this didn't work well as such. The food wasn't great this time. My husband ordered a pie, vegetables & mash, which was a pie top only with all of the meal underneath, mash, veg ... 3 slices of carrot & a couple of slices of maybe courgette & pie filling, he was very disappointed with this, we thought they were bringing out the vegetables & mash separately but this is how it comes. My order was a Fleece burger with fries. The fries were overcooked with barely anything inside so they were left as unenjoyable, the burger bun was very hard, tough & dry & couldn't be eaten. The meat patty was also very dry, this was topped with cheese & a slice of bacon as an extra cost topping. Basically for £20 I had a thin, dry burger patty with melted cheese, bacon, a lettuce leaf & 2 slices of tomatoes with a couple of mouthfuls of coleslaw. We didn't want to complain when asked if everything was ok part way through, as we'd have had to shout above the next tables noise which would've been embarrassing. The waitress didn't say anything on collecting the plate & seeing most of the meal had been left. A really disappointing dining experience this time, we felt we'd let our dad/f.i.l. down as he'd left money for us to have a meal for him. Hate to complain about The Fleece as we have grown to really like the place, have enjoyed the food & ambience there before. We hit a super busy evening as the pub was full & had a wedding reception going on too.

A wonderful place to have Sunday lunch or just a pint or two with friends. All the staff a very friendly and professional. Definitely worth a visit.

A beautiful, historic pub with a superb garden in a beautiful village - well worth a major detour. Our food was very tasty, but there was a minor mix-up with our order. The exceptionally friendly ladies at the bar dealt with that admirably and generously - top marks to them.

Pub was busy but our table was ready on time. Table was OK but we were squeezed together a bit. Soup was lovely but my langoustine starter was only OK. Not much taste but maybe a questionable choice. Main course pies (Steak and ale and chicken, ham and leek) we're very good. Well filled and tasty. Chips were OK but not great and there could have been more. We enjoyed the meal and the atmosphere in the pub. Pretty good but improvements are available if they want to get to the next level.
