Located 20yds from the beach in the beautiful seaside village of Sandsend, we’re just a short drive from the popular fishing town of Whitby, North Yorkshire.

We have a real love for the sea and pride ourselves in serving the finest, locally caught sustainable fish and seafood in a casual dining environment.

At Fish Cottage, we welcome the whole family to our seafood restaurant and that includes the four legged members too. So you can head off on a coastal adventure knowing that afterwards you can enjoy a delicious seafood supper all together at our dog friendly restaurant in Sandsend, Whitby.

Restaurant opening times: 11:30 am open, last seating 8 pm; Last orders takeaway Mon-Sun 8.00 pm

We don't take bookings for our outside areas, its on a first come basis.

This is a very good fish restaurant. Firstly because the chefs know exactly how fish needs to be cooked and secondly because of the wide variety of fish and shell fish that regularly feature on the menu. The choice of daily fresh fish, cooked to order, can include fish on the bone such as Whole Sea Bream and Lemon Sole. Also on the menu is a variety of Tacos including Taco Racks for sharing. which appear to be a very popular choice by diners. A highly recommended restaurant which benefits by being away from the hustle and bustle of nearby Whitby.

Nice food, the Plaice was delicious. There is not much room between tables, however the restaurant was full of charming oeople!

Fish cottage has always been one of our favourite restaurants and today didn’t disappoint. The taco’s and scampi were absolutely delicious

We had a fabulous meal at The Fish Cottage. We ate lobster, hake & hallibut in a lemon and caper butter which tasted amazing. Overall we had a lovely evening with fab food and great house wine. We have eaten here before and will definitely be back.

Fish Cottage is definitely a gem. Loved the relaxed atmosphere, both outside whilst we were having a drink and then inside when we were having our meal. Couldn't fault the food or service. We both had the Crab Arancini to start. The Crab and Prawn linguine for my main course was absolutely delicious with lots of flavours and my son's Fish Tacos were also delicious. Prices are very good for the quality of food we received. Would highly recommend.
