food was delicious. I had ceviche and then veal chop with crushed fingerling potatoes. Wife had burrata and then halibut special. Portions were large--we both took home sizable amounts of entrees and were too full for dessert. Only negative was that our table was in small (3-4 tables) upstairs room. In the past we have sat downstairs, which we prefer--will request that next time.

Went for a birthday dinner. Wildly overrated for the price… this was a top place on our list of places to eat in Charlotte. However, it did not live up to the hype. We didn’t even make it to desert. Halfway through the main courses we were just so disappointed and decided to get the check and leave. - baratta: was served with stale/burnt bread that looked like white bread from Walmart - octopus: was okay, nothing to write home about. - elk chop: asked for medium rare, served closer to well done. Tough without a decent sear - scallops: any flavor was overpowered by salt

NC snapper feature was excellent and served “piping hot.” While the mainstays are enticing — never miss the Caesar Salad + calamari — the specials are compelling and inventive. We love the atmosphere in the bar, appreciate the warm hospitality and appropriately attentive service. Thank you, Fletcher, Dennis and the rest of the Fig Tree team! /jrh

We usually love Fig Tree but this last visit was meh. Had the escargot as an app, it was decent but not spectacular. Then I had the sea bass - when it arrived everything was cold. Our waiter quickly got me another one which was good. Overall, just not our best experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the fig tree. It is a lovely restaurant and the staff is wonderful. It was a beautiful night and we sat on the patio. Our waiter was very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. We had an oyster special that was delicious. The octopus appetizer that was on the menu was tasty but a bit chewy. The white fish special was very good but a bit salty. The elk we ordered medium rare and it was also tasty but a bit chewy. We will visit again but probably try other items on the menu

The food and service were excellent. The steak I ordered medium rare came thoroughly medium and had to be sent back. Otherwise, a fantastic dinner.

Overall the food was very good but some of the items were not so great. The grilled octopus was so tough you could barely cut it. The filet though my wife ordered it without the stilton coating it came out tough and way overdone. Medium rare is a warm red center, this had barely any pink in it and was very grainy she said. The base that was served under the burratta though it was tasty it had olives which she doesn't eat. The foccia was excellent as was the Sea Bass so just know when you go to make sure you know how they are presenting dish you ordered. The server we had, Abby(?), was outstanding!

I came in for my 1st time and enjoyed my Birthday dinner..jack was awesome and made sure we had great recommendations..me and my guest are both waiters..so thank you for being a great waiter..I had the filet and she had the sea bass ..both I recommend

Unique ambiance as restaurant is a converted older home. Ate outside on porch menu interesting a d food quality good. Deserts yummy. Service very good
