Our name, "Fat Ox," pays homage to the robust flavors and hearty dishes found in Northern Italian cuisine. Symbolizing strength, endurance, and the bounty of the land, it reflects our commitment to serving exceptional meals crafted from the finest ingredients, sourced locally whenever possible and prepared with care & expertise. Really wonderful food. Pasta was perfectly cooked and the server was attentive but not overbearing. Was also happy to find a spot with a kitchen open until 11! Will definitely come again if in Banff

The best dining experience we had in the Rockies out of a half dozen highly rated restaurants. Jayce, our server, was excellent and one of the top waiters we have ever been fortunate enough to have. Do yourself a favor and patronize the Fat Ox.

Based on the recommendation from a local bartender, we canceled our reservation at one restaurant and made it for the Fat Ox. It did not disappoint. What a marvelous new restaurant. The service, food, ambience were all outstanding. My husband and I shared the tomato bruschetta, which was outstanding. I had the pasta and shrimp and my husband had the New York strip. Both were wonderful. The owner and manager stopped by several times to check on us and have a conversation. Would definitely recommend and hopefully will be back.

The food was absolutely excellent. Each bite was a wow. We’ve lived in town for 23 years and it is one of the best meals i’ve ever had in the valley. Michele our server was attentive and fun. Couldn’t say enough good things about her.

We were so impressed with our meal at Far Ox - everything our group of six ordered was delicious, and our server ended up bringing extra side plates so we could sample each others more easily. Our favorites were the bruschetta, gnocchi, rigatoni, and lamb osso buco. The space was beautiful - a perfect vibe for the end of a great day in Banff. We loved Tocino too but are so excited by this amazing new concept!

We visited as a group of three adults with a four-year-old and had an extraordinary experience! Our server was incredibly attentive, accommodating, and friendly, going above and beyond to ensure we had a nice time. The food was exceptional, offering a creative twist on familiar menu items. The space is stunningly beautiful, down to the smallest details (even the bathroom sink). We highly, highly recommend this place, especially for families with young children, as it's rare to find such kid-friendly fine dining. We can't wait to visit again!
