The Fat Badger restaurant offers an exquisite dining experience in the heart of Harrogate. The restaurant serves superb quality AA rosette food in elegant surroundings.
Dining during Monday - Thursday your table is likely to be allocated into our bar area.
Tables for our bar on weekends and outdoor patio all the time can not be booked in advance and are offered on a first come first served basis.
Dogs are welcome if customers are happy to dine in our outdoor areas.

The Fat Badger restaurant is so dark that a table of 6 diners read their menus with the torches on their phone. It was 6.30 pm and it was brighter outside. I have hearing loss , I wear bilateral hearing aids. I need to see the waiters face to lipread. I travel alone when visiting restaurants for the first time , so I take the Times puzzles with me. I couldn’t see them in the dimly lit restaurant. I asked if I could move from my assigned table to one beside the window , which also had a table light. I was told no, they have been reserved for other diners. No one occupied the window seat whilst I was there. I would not bring clients/ guests to this restaurant as conversation is stifled by the dark room and loud music

In Harrogate for a holiday and fancied a Sunday roast. Couldn't have chosen a better venue. The food was amazing. All quality ingredients, piping hot and lovely menu.The service was perfect from every member of staff. Would highly recommend.

Food was amazing the taste was just so nice Couldn’t fault it but I felt the staff were very rushed and not really friendly - quite robotic and the gentleman at the end seemed quite high up wasn’t very friendly he seemed he just agreed with my conversation and we were just another customer and not much warmth in the conversation- just like next please! Didn’t really look when talking - it was take the money and your out and next one in! Spoilt the full experience really as food was amazing I think the language barrier was also part of the reason the staff were not as friendly maybe - reception lady was lovely but not the restaurant staff

Excellent Sunday lunch at The Fat Badger. This was my second visit and it was just as good as the first. Two generous courses of good food for £25 is great value for money. The waiting staff are excellent too, friendly and helpful. Thank you Fat Badger, I'll be back!

Absolutely beautiful food as always, the beef with the Sunday roast is cooked to perfection. Couldn’t ask for a better roast dinner and will absolutely be back! Very minor issue with additional items on the bill we didn’t receive/ order however this was rectified immediately and the service was fantastic.

Great place , good food ,great service . Points for improvement …needs a proper vegetarian roast option . Veg with roast a bit bland . Highly reccomend overall tho !

Two people ordered fish and chips which were over salted .The kitchen was closed around 10 and we felt rushed out the restaurant.Very disappointing

Well cooked well presented well served sound English food. It is great to see food cooked for the benefit of the diner, not for the chef to show off his latest tasting morsel
