The Farmhouse at Redcoats is set in a beautiful 15th century farmhouse and gardens nestled in the north Hertfordshire countryside. Sherwin Jacobs heads the kitchen and promises to deliver an experience you will not forget specialising in quality, fresh, local produce. Private dinning is available in the charismatic main house rooms. Please call us directly to book an afternoon tea, 24 hour notice is needed.

Lovely locations d pretty views of the well maintained gardens. Food was very good. Starter portion of grilled crispy squid was very generous and the Godminster cheese doughnuts were sumptuous. Mains of chicken Kiev and grilled plaice on the bone were really very good. Staff were attentive and food was delivered promptly. I went of my mother’s birthday and they brought some chocolate brownies with a happy birthday message piped in chocolate after our desserts which was a nice touch.

The staff always go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable and the food is always fantastic. And such a beautiful setting. We love it here.

A lovely setting to eat outside on the terrace to the beautiful garden. Beautiful food, perfect positions, quality ingredients and spot on taste! Not rushed and time to enjoy the surroundings. We were brought a special anniversary treat before trying to relive our photo moments from 24 years ago. Highly recommended.

Meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary - complimentary fizz on arrival was a lovely touch. The menu made it tricky to choose, lots of lovely seasonal food. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, wine and the staff made us feel very welcome. A memorable evening - thank you.

Such a lovely setting for dinner and high quality food to boot. The oysters, raw rare breed beef were highlights and we’ll definitely be back

This is such a lovely place to go to. My second time and we will be back. The restaurant staff are lovely and very professional. The surroundings are great, relaxing and calming. Beautiful inside the dining room and in the gardens outside too. The food is lovely, but for me not outstanding. I've eaten twice here now and whilst the food is very good, the Sunday roast did not quite match the expectations of the place. My most recent visit on Friday 21st June, the starter was superb, the Chicken Kiev mains tasty, but just odd to have a brown Jus/gravy over this particular dish - somehow it did not quite work for me. Vegetables beautifully cooked though and the value overall very good. Other than the two main courses just missing the mark, I cannot fault the place.

Great meal with the family. The best Sunday roast I have had. The pork was fabulous! The gardens behind were lovely and we were blessed with sunny weather so got to enjoy the beautiful grounds too. We will be back!
