Sherwin Jacobs heads the kitchen and promises to deliver an experience you will not forget specialising in quality, fresh, local produce. Beautiful surroundings, lovely orangery to eat in - we had lunch & even though it was a Monday (not usually busiest times for pubs/restaurants) there were quite a few tables inside & outside occupied. Highly recommend the cheese doughnut starters, & chicken kiev main - which doesn’t come with anything so would recommend mash, rather than chips, as the kiev is in a jus. 2nd time I’ve had lunch here & would go again even tho’ it’s a c.40 min drive so not local to me!

Lovely locations d pretty views of the well maintained gardens. Food was very good. Starter portion of grilled crispy squid was very generous and the Godminster cheese doughnuts were sumptuous. Mains of chicken Kiev and grilled plaice on the bone were really very good. Staff were attentive and food was delivered promptly. I went of my mother’s birthday and they brought some chocolate brownies with a happy birthday message piped in chocolate after our desserts which was a nice touch.

The staff always go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable and the food is always fantastic. And such a beautiful setting. We love it here.

A lovely setting to eat outside on the terrace to the beautiful garden. Beautiful food, perfect positions, quality ingredients and spot on taste! Not rushed and time to enjoy the surroundings. We were brought a special anniversary treat before trying to relive our photo moments from 24 years ago. Highly recommended.

Meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary - complimentary fizz on arrival was a lovely touch. The menu made it tricky to choose, lots of lovely seasonal food. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, wine and the staff made us feel very welcome. A memorable evening - thank you.

Such a lovely setting for dinner and high quality food to boot. The oysters, raw rare breed beef were highlights and we’ll definitely be back
