I've had lovely meals here, in the past, but this one was very disappointing: I booked well in advance, reconfirmed as requested, but was only told after we were seated that our table was needed for 2pm...1½hrs for a booked Sunday lunch!? That influenced our choice of food. Then when we went to pay, we were told it was 'card only...it says on our website'. Well, if it is, it's well hidden!

Nice location and setting. Great service. Unfortunately was almost an hour before our starter appeared and then another 45 minutes before the main. Starter and our main was good but the dessert ( Bakewell tart ) had just come out of there fridge and was difficult to cut!

Roast dinner was lovely and just about right portion. Dessert selection was disappointing, only 3 choices.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Sunday roast - amazing food and excellent service. Even our 4 year old loved her mini roast and she's a tough one to please! Would highly recommend.

Absolutely loved it staff lovely food excellent, nice atmosphere and just a short walk to the rooms that are very pleasant overall great stay

Food was delicious we had Sunday Roast - Brisket and Belly Pork - vegetables were so good and plates very hot - staff very polite and friendly - nice surroundings
