We are pleased to be recognised as a family run pub with attentive friendly staff, something that repeatedly comes up on our reviews. Our aim is to provide good quality freshly produced food and at reasonable prices.

We are delighted our customers love the warm welcoming ambience of the pub and enjoy the traditional and slightly quirky decor.

The Farmer’s Sunday lunch always offers a choice of three meats, fresh vegetables and goose fat roast potatoes. We also offer a homemade vegetarian option and can cater for gluten free and other requirements, just ask us.

Good food, good service at the bar/till, good play area for the kids. Not impressed with the mess left on tables around the garden, including several times requesting our table be cleared of previous diners mess. Lots of wasps too, maybe just one of those things, maybe the left dirty plates/bottles contribute.

This has become my go to pub for a meal. Portions are very generous, prices are right and the staff is always welcoming. Menu varies from time to time and the dishes are always fresh and tasty. Farmers stands above all the places around that recently jacked up their prices at the same compromising on quantity and quality of food.

The girls were extremely friendly and efficient in their service, both at the bar and in the restaurant. We had booked an outside table, as we have a 2yr old cockerpoo, but as the weather had cooled down, we sat inside. It was a Monday evening and quiet but we liked that. It was really nice to see other well-behaved dogs in there too! We had typical pub food, scampi and a pie. Both were well presented and delicious 😋. Would recommend

It was our first time visiting the farmers & sat in the garden as we had our pup with us. Food (veggie roast) arrived promptly, was tasty & service was polite & with a smile. Instrumental music was played which was pleasant & there was a great play area for kids. Ideal pub lunch for a Sunday afternoon.

Very nice food. Bought out in good time. Would definitely come again. The garlic bread was very nice! So was the Brie starter.

A nice meal at the Farmers which is 5 minutes drive from our house. We wanted to give somewhere new a try so booked via the website/Open Table. We received a very warm welcome and were shown straight away to our table (and had a choice!). Drinks ordering was easy and they were very nice too (and I had a great chat with one of the bar lady assistants about the various drafts on offer and even tasted them to choose). The menu was fine if not massively extensive and we chose pie with mash for our son, beer battered fish and chips with mushy peas for me and a pulled pork burger for my wife. Unfortunately when the food came out they had sweet and sour pork instead of the burger for my wife but they were most apologetic and replaced it without issue. The food was generally pretty good and the portions were enormous. The one thing was my son's mash was a bit overcooked and so dense, even with the gravy, but he made up for that by finishing my wife's chips (which were fantastic). With three rounds of drinks the total was £108 including an optional (but pre-added) 12.5% tip. This was fine as we really enjoyed the evening and would readily come back.

Plenty of choice of seating, indoors and out. Friendly, attentive service and decent food. Not an issue for us but food was very slow to arrive

Starter was good (garlic bread/ hummus) - that’s the 1 and only star I have given this restaurant rating! Roast dinner was probably up there with the worst I’ve ever had! Didn’t help with the fact that it was left on the pass for 20 mins or more, obviously forgotten about due to ordering and being served a starter! Shocking for the chef to let it go out really after this length of time! - bullet hard roast potatoes, dry chicken, limp salad, cracker-like Yorkshire puddings, the list goes on …. And NO there is no disguising the flavours of the roast dinner with the over reduced gravy and WHATEVER paxo mix concoction was going on in the stuffed chicken?? (Couldn’t quite work out by the smell what it was supposed to be - certainly no sausage meat in there)?? And also a word of advice - NO kid likes fresh tomato period! - (especially on their pizza, underneath the cheese, that you have to scrap off to get rid of hence losing the complete concept of what a pizza is supposed to be)! The lady behind the bar did change my first roast dinner without any qualm although I wished I had just got a refund the first time round as I didn’t eat the second attempt of the roast dinner. No-one approached the table to check if everything was OK with our meals and the fact that you had to pay before receiving your meal is always a put-off as your more likely to not request a refund for poor food/ service (which in this case we did not) Safe to safe will not be returning!

Having recently moved to the area we were looking for a reasonably priced menu to save cooking. By chance we found The Farmers and were delighted with the reception we received and the hostess took time explain the details of the menu items to ensure we were happy to place our order. The portions were much larger than we expected and very well presented. We asked about Sunday lunches and again a detailed explanation of what was available also told they too were large helpings. The staff were very courteous and the service prompt. Why am I telling you this ? please don't book as you may prevent us making another visit. Seriously, I would recommend it as a very pleasurable experience

Came here for lunch with my father. Both had the fish and chips. Beautifully cooked, really light batter and very generous portions. Service was quick and friendly. Fairly quiet atmosphere being lunch time but was a lovely pub.
